Any of you guys ever hear of the game called Mad Gab??  It's a hilarious game to play.  There is a board and you advance along as you figure out the sayings that your team member reads out loud to you.

The sayings make absolutely no sense.  They appear to be just a bunch of unrelated words thrown together . . .for example . . . one of the commercials for the game use this line.

Eye mull of mashing

Now . . .imagine if this line came up in Scripture.  It makes no physical sense . .but it "must" make sense  . .it's in Scripture!  So we get out our lexicons, our strongs, our dicitionaries and commentaries and we go to work breaking this down word for word .  . .knowing that once you go microscopic on it . . .you will ALWAYS find your laboring way to the crux of the matter and you'll be able to unlock it all once you achieve that place of deep truth.  So you begin by much prayer and fasting and then the time comes . .putting on your rubber gloves . . .just like they do on CSI as they begin digging for evidence in a cadaver.

"Eye"  Hmm . .that's easy, it has to do with what I'm doing . . .I'm "looking" and "searching", yeah . . .cuz that would then link up with the next word "MULL".  I contemplate, I give much thought.  Much distressed thought.
what am I wrestling over ?  OF MASHING . ..mashing?  Hmmm . .. mashing, I'm searching . . .I'm HUNTING, yeah!!  I'm hunting with deep thought . . much CONCENTRATION!!  Oh  . ..it's coming together now!!!

And in a few quick scribbles, dotting a couple "i's" and a few "t's" crossed, your sermon is ready.  You're so excited you're almost quivering . . .you approach the pulpit and you begin relaying a revelation FROM GOD himself!  "People!  it's with great concern that I stand before you to tell you that God has raised his hand high and is poised to destroy us to smitherines because we have not hearkened to his voice . . .now all the earth must pay the price of destruction for their fleshly desires!  For it says right here in the book of oienaggjhaby chapter ahodehrng EYE MULL OF MASHING!"

God has been watching, he has been contemplating, concentrating on the idea of grinding us into dirt!  And . . .WE DESERVE IT . . .."

I'm sure you can finish out the rest of that scenerio with any local sermon you've heard . .and just as many national sermons have done the same.  Pastors and preachers parade up and down their platforms stomping and snorting in confidence that they've FIGURED IT OUT . . . .when the entire time, all they've done is . .they've put the emphasis on the wrong sylables.

And that's all this game is.  It's is literally one of the funniest things, when you are the other team waiting your turn, and you already know the answer but the other team doesn't.  All they know is what they read.  And what they read makes absolutely no sense.  For me, the secret to the game is, close your eyes and just listen . . . it may take a bit . .but once you get the hang of it, many of the phrases come easy.  The fun is, listening to the other team try to come up with the right phrase while reading the wrong one out loud.

So . . .our little example then?  EYE MULL OF MASHING?

  I'M       A   LOVE   MACHINE
EYE  M - U -LL OF- MASHING

All of my ranting and raving up and down the platform, convincing people the sky is falling . . .and the whole time, my natural mind is putting the emphasis in all the wrong places.  When I listen to my spirit . . .it puts everything "into" it's rightful place and  . .well . . .the difference is with this example, everyone "acknowledges" it's supposed to be I'm a love machine . .but when dealing with biblical things . . .people would rather embrace eye mull a machine, than admit that it really does have an entirely different meaning than what they think.

:cloud9: He put it in perspective for me when He made it life in me that ALL, ALL, ALL men seek after their own things (the things of a man are CARNAL) and not the things which be of Christ (which is Spiritual). If they're not seeking after the things which are spiritual, then their seeking after their own things (and that includes doctrines), it can't get any plainer than that. My  :2c:....Blessings.....
