Title: salvation σωτήριος (sōtērios) = defence
Post by: Song on June 17, 2023, 02:03:58 AM
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,

bringing salvation σωτήριος (sōtērios)

Strong's 4992:  Saving, bringing salvation; subst: salvation. Neuter of the same as soteria as noun; defender or defence.

Literally, God is bringing salvation to all people, He is their defence, which cannot fail 1 Cor 13:8. If someone is tortured forever, that defence has failed. If someone is destroyed forever, that defence has failed. In fact, God torture and destroying forever involves Him taking the role of the attacker, not the defender! That's offence. And also, an offense to God, to think that He, a God of Love, would stoop so low as to torture/destroy permanently.

What about those who have not yet believed? Eventually, they will believe, otherwise the grace of God literally failed in bringing salvation to all people. Our God is not a God of failure, but rather of success!

So here's another mention of the word all.

to all

πᾶσιν (pasin)

Adjective - Dative Masculine Plural

Strong's 3956:  All, the whole, every kind of. Including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole.

The whole world will gain this defence, no matter how long it takes.
