Title: Retcon
Post by: Lazarus Short on November 30, 2015, 09:37:01 PM
I came across this word, retcon, today.  It is a contraction of "retroactive continuity," where people go back and change a narrative to fit new facts, or a new slant.  What has been done with Hell seems to fit the concept.  I remember that it was done in the world of the novel "1984."  I'm going to have to mention the concept in "Heaven, Yes - Hell, No."  What do you all think?

I believe it is describing the finished work of Christ, simply because,

when we receive a revelation ..... does it not impact everything you have already come to know, in that it reinforces what you already know, making it stronger (it expands your tent)?

It always causes an increase in one way or another

In short I believe it is also describing the renewing of the mind, for that is the finished work of Christ in us

It is a contraction of "retroactive continuity," where people go back and change a narrative to fit new facts

See it in this way:
where people go back ..... and change a narrative ..... to fit new facts
where Christ goes back ..... and renews the mind ..... to fit the new covenant
