1 Peter 4:6 says "even to the dead the gospel was preached" but the Greek words, to me, sound more like 'even to the dead I announce good news' - Announce being G2097 - euaggelizo, to announce good news, I bring good news, preach good tidings
The verse reading literally "to this indeed also dead I bring good news in order that to judge indeed according to men flesh,human nature to live and according to God Spirit,wind."

The first part still says "even to the dead I announce,bring good tidings" - I'm thinking of judgment day when all the unsaved folks will be before God's throne..
A previous verse is the one which says Jesus preached via the spirit to those who perished in the flood, either while Jesus was in the grave, or perhaps while the ark was "being prepared". Either way, whether the good news is announced to the dead while in hades (while unseen/dead) or upon judgment day isn't the point... but "also to the dead good news announced"

yes, I have come to a strong belief that God has benevolent thoughts regarding His creation...He is not some huge cosmic bully just waiting to clobber 'sinners' and burn them in hell fire forever....as it says in the Bible in book of James, 'mercy triumphs over judgement'....when Jesus was on earth, He spoke to the multitudes in His sermon and called them 'children'and even forgave the ones murdering Him from the cross...so God loves ALL His creation and I strongly believe He will redeem ALL in the end....even if we dont believe God will finally triumph we should at least hope He does....but theres very strong Biblical evidence to suggest He does win in the end and not the Devil :banana: :dsunny:
