to those who were to crucifiy him? Was Judas an obedient servent of the Father or
was he of the "satan" that entered him. Inother words,without Judas being obeident,
could the prophecy's of the prophets been completed? Read John 13:18-21
:cloud9: Good question. I have thought for a long time that he was made a vessel of dishonor, but even in that, was an obedient servant (with a "little" help from Satan). What's more, the giving of the sop was a Hebrew custom and traditionally the one who received the first sop, was being honored.
If you noticed it said earlier in the text, that Satan FIRST put it into his heart (a tare) to betray Jesus. So then in one sense what Jesus did in honoring him was as watering both the wheat and the tares, so both were raised up by that action, in order for Judas to choose within his heart.
Also, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy, and look what it says a little further down, in verse 21. Here's the text. Blessings.....

23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. 25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? 26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
It seems that Jesus determined who would betray him by giving Judas a sop. it was after the sop that Satan entered into Judas.

It seems to me it was both but both were done by the hand of God. As soon as Jesus gave Judas the sop it was determined that Judas would betray him.

Interesting (to me at least :happygrin:) connected thought...Jesus told the 12 they would sit on 12 thrones judging...Judas was one of those He was speaking to...Jesus told Pilate in John 18:11, "No authority have you against Me in anything, except it were given to you from above. Therefore he who is giving Me up to you has the greater sin." Then he would sit on a throne judging others, in a place of ultimate honor in the kingdom? Talk about God's love, forgiveness, mercy, HIS PLAN that defies our preconceived doctrines, and ULTIMATE RECONCILIATION! People want to argue against UR? Forget about it! There it is...Judas.
