Title: Why all of this effort if salvation is universal?
Post by: ChuckM on January 18, 2012, 11:05:59 PM
I don't understand why all of the effort is put forth to advance this argument.  If all are ultimately saved anyway, just sit back and relax and do (or don't do) whatever you want!
Or does this teaching include a 'degrees of rewards' teaching so that those who agree with this get better accommodations than those who did not? There is no need to know anything about Jesus or God or the Bible, or to live in any particular manner.  And what does it matter if you are adherent to ANY other religion, including the church of satan?

I've wrestled with this a couple of times.

I guess there are degree of being saved. If one lives their life in sin and their entire life is built on this, then they will lose everything at their death, meet an angry king and will have to start from scratch. But a believer will have a friend to welcome them through death and already prepared for the life of kingdom of God.

eternal life is now.  The kingdom of heaven is at hand, its inside you.  Hell is now (and possibly later) for so many people.  Jesus came to set the captives free, from what?  Sin.

There is no way someone can truly love God —
                                                                            in Spirit and Truth —

and then just sit back and relax and do (or don't do) whatever you want!

If in your heart is a desire to seek out God -then do so.if there isn't God will one day
If there is a desire to do evil and you don't because ,the church said don't....then your heart is revealed for what is in it
God is in control of all.he wouldn't leave us up to our own religious :icon_king: :icon_king: requirements!we always fail.
There is no condemnation ,just our reconciliation back to God
Blessings

:cloud9: Observe the ant. He works because it's his NATURE. We do so because love is His nature. Knowing Him in this life, is far greater in reward in every way, than waiting until you meet Him out of the body. My  :2c: blessings

Dear Chuck M,

Your question is a common question.  We all must have asked this question at our initial exposure to Universal Reconciliation.  Speaking of myself, I do not love God as I should and can never do.  Always indebted I thank God for the fact that He takes care of my  father and mother and brother and sisters and cousins including those of yours.  I thank Him for those around me who were not yet given the knowledge and for those, not knowing, offend Him by His own mercy and love.

Would you appreciate the fact that the Master of the Univers trusts you with His secrets?  I know I owe Him something that I could never pay.  I find peace in God for the above and no one can take that away from me!

what a day when there is no divisions in Christ  , what a day huh ?   this seems to be the goal

when 1Cr 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

that ALOT OF WORKING  going on ,  we rest in Him as the Head  moves / and Wind blows where it will  enter  in  and do this wonderful work , and we some how get to be apart of all this  permanate   solution  in the  desire of Gods good pleasure  WOW  :mshock:

I care not if you believe me.

But I pray you believe Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom having been divided against itself is desolated, and no city or house having been divided against itself, doth stand."

The Kingdom of God is not desolated and it is standing strong.

OK , LOL  we just had a misunderstanding
you said  Gods Kingdom is never divided and I agree with that wholly  and completly
but  as many going  up into it its not   done swelling to the full ..       Has all enemies been  put under his feet ?   whosoever is not in Christ now , today in this earth , is still under his feet still being reconciled .

is God all in all yet ?  :dontknow:
thats all I was saying ..... peace    :HeartThrob:

Without all the biblical cut and paste.
It is quite simple.
Your mind your spirit and God all together in your thoughts at peace.
You realize and are thankful you and God are at peace because of
Jesus sacrifice.
That is the kingdom in you.
This whole scenario happens at a place and in time.
It can happen in the car on the couch reading looking at view,
or while in prayer.
Each one of these occurrences can take three seconds four minutes,
and some time all day.
Through your life the time is all added up.
This time is added to eternity and it is how old you are in heaven.
Some will be a day and a half old others will be years old.
How old we are is our crown and reward.
It is what we put down before the lamb in heaven.

Everyone will know how old you are in heaven there will be no jealousy
yet we will appreciate those older than us this is also there reward.

Who doesn't like a church that is vital to all age groups .
Got to get those darn twenty somethings interested.

This formula is found in the Bible?

Without all the biblical cut and paste.
1)It is quite simple.

1) Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

2)Your mind your spirit and God all together in your thoughts at peace.
You realize and are thankful you and God are at peace because of
Jesus sacrifice.

2) May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance

3)That is the kingdom in you.

3)For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power
to do what pleases him

4)This whole scenario happens at a place and in time.

4) Place and time are understood.( The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time,

5)It can happen in the car on the couch reading looking at view,
or while in prayer.

5)But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

6) Each one of these occurrences can take three seconds four minutes,
and some time all day.

6) Personally the length of time I can spend immersed in the throne room
conscious of Christ and aware of his holiness is longer it seems, some where between 3seconds and half a day.

7) Through your life the time is all added up.

7)The LORD has sworn by himself, the Pride of Jacob:
"I will never forget anything they have done
When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the LORD a ransom for his life at the time he is counted.

8)This time is added to eternity and it is how old you are in heaven.

8) Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown.

9)Some will be a day and a half old others will be years old.
9) "I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve."

10)How old we are is our crown and reward.

10) doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.

11)It is what we put down before the lamb in heaven.

11) God permitting this is what I personally would like to with my crown.

12)Everyone will know how old you are in heaven there will be no jealousy
yet we will appreciate those older than us this is also there reward.

12) When I say everyone I assumed you thought of heaven as I did.
no jealousy, I would be full of appreciation.
We are encouraged by the word to encourage one an other in such things.

13)Who doesn't like a church that is vital to all age groups .
Got to get those darn twenty something's interested.
13) My attempt at humor sorry.

No. 13 certainly summarizes your attempt at adding up our "heavenly" attainment of chronological age.

and

Repudiates Ephesians 4:13;
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man,
unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

The rewards of godliness are many, both in this age and in the one to come(Eph 2:7). The penalties of ungodliness are also many, in this age, and in the one to come(matthew 25:46). "The one who knew to do his masters will and did it not shall be beaten with many stripes, the one who did not kno, will be beaten with few". "You shall not escape until you have payed the last penny".

The blessing afforded the elect of God is rich in this age, and in the ages to come as God, who was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, has enterusted unto us the ministry of RECONCILIATION. In this age, as sheep led to slaughter, in ages to come as the priests and sons of the most high.

Whether or not this reconciliation is eventually extended to all is a matter of THE WORD being tru, or not- not our reasonings about it.

Colossians 1:19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Ephesians 1:9,10 With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:23-28 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

So that God may be all in all....there you have it, the reason for everything.

Yes, even the subjection of the adversaries, accomplished in the lake of fire, is so that all things having been subjected to Christ(a footstool for His feet) will be returned to the Father, so that GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL

It is for THIS reason that every knee shall bow bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father--

Not so that God can give a big I told you so to all the damned as they go off to burn forever, or be annihilated

Rev 5:13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"

14 The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.

There are many reasons as to why, or why not, all should be saved. I came to the conclusion I reached by the Word of God....."It is written" Saved me from the horrifying belief that God would rejoice, and we with Him, as multitudes writhed in agony forever.

32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
   How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
34 "Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?"
35 "Who has ever given to God,
   that God should repay them?"
36 For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.

"If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me"

"Behold, I make ALL THINGS new."

This is a bigger work than we had been led to believe ;o)

Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires;

but

those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

You could ask the same thing about Jesus crucifixion. if the world was going to be saved anyway, why the need for Jesus to die?  I think the answer is God planned it that way. Maybe to bring many sons into glory?

Your a sharp cookie ! right  ...    God is so fair  in that  many  being born in Adam  the dust and breath of life  get to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and know the depths of satan and also   know only God is good , so that good is somthing to go after   , desiring change , to know good , being born again

till  the perfect comes which is Jesus Christ interceeding for us , on our behalf , we become his possesion , like a little lamb that is dumb but needs alot of help to grow up  and excellent shepherd ./protecter .etc
but that tree of knowledge of good and evil causes us all to

have had our eyes opened and  know  that the good is the only part of that tree  to chose

I always remeber Jesus saying make the tree good and its fruit good or make the tree  corrupt and its fruit  corrupt a Tree is KNOWN by its fruit

Paul called many carnal still in one church  and babes in Christ because of the   way they presented themselves  openly  fighting and dividing  etc .. but the Lord is patient and longsuffering toward us that we do not perish ...etc but he nature of a lamb/ sheep is  a challenge , if anyone has ever been around them lol
