Thanks for letting me introduce myself....I have been a Jesus Freak for over 50 years. However, The last seven I became a teacher at our local Methodist Church. Before that I was Southern Baptist! Yes the full blown Hell Fire and brimstone kinda church. Man it was always hot in there!...I didn't study much until about 8 years ago, I just listened a believed everything the pastor and teacher taught. Hook line and sinker...Then I met another jesus freak and he told me about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and after a few months of study I got baptised in the Holy Ghost! This happen about 8 years ago! Then God opened up the scriptures to me and I became a teacher. Once I became a teacher I started having way more questions than answers that my church couldn't answer.
Just to cut to the chase, through my studies and teaching I started seeing God as a good and ALL loving God. And that made me start asking questions and comparing Jesus' actions to God's action in the Old Testament and things just didn't reconcile for me. Which lead to more questions and more studies. Which has lead me here! And now I am being relieved of my teaching position at my church because of my more in dept understand. They just can't have someone in that position with a doctine that is different than what the church agrees with...And I actually understand thier position. What I don't understand is why the elders will not even give me a chance to tell them what I have discovered. They are scared......The good news... I will soon be out from under the bondage to freely explore. And this site seems to fit what I am needing for now! A place to ask the crazy question and possibly get the answer quicker than through my own studies by myself. I have been studing this by myself because the church wouldn't allow me to discuss it at all. They were concern that I would be planting bad seed.....I can only see God as awesome! Even in his disipline!.....In Christ! Shalom.....
Welcome! Like you say, it's sad your church folks are afraid of the truth, but they're doing you a favor by cutting you loose. This is a good site to meet folks with various perspectives but who agree that God is love (1 John 4:8,16), will save all mankind (1 Timothy 4:10), and will reconcile all on earth and in the heavens (Colossians 1:20). Here's another good site for you to check out too. http://concordant.org/ I know you're going to be blessed the more you learn about the truth of scripture that you can't get from church doctrine. God bless you.
Welcome to the tentmaker forum
Welcome Shalom! (tentmaker "newbie"! :LH: ) I love how you have studied on your own.. Me too! Somewhat of a spiritual hermit here! for which I am very thankful to be!

As for Methodist and Baptist churches,
get out of Babylon ASAP!IMO, they have nothing for you but confusion. Their doctrines DO NOT MAKE SENSE! Nor that of any other "Christian" religion. They twist scriptures to work around eternal torment from Genesis to Revelation. They do not know God in his true character. Their teachings will rub off on you without your realizing it. For me, staying in the organized church was NOT an option. Those "churches" are not the true church, they are social clubs with a semi-christian theme. :2c:
Studying on your own is the only way for now. Leaving the organized church (Southern Baptist) was the best thing I ever did. I miss my friends, but I have NEVER regretted leaving. I will NEVER return to the darkness of eternal torment. I have learned more truth since I left a year and a half ago than I did my first 49 years of life.
(I hope I didn't scare you off)
May Yah bless your search for true truth!

You are like a hot-house plant now transplanted to the garden of the Lord, to take the rain, the wind, the winter - to endure and grow tall and strong. Your expulsion from your position is the work of God. :URWelcome: :friendstu: :gimmefive:

Ronny and Shalom:
Amen and welcome Shalom. :-)
Just thinking of that last part and if an earthly parent never corrects their child, all can see what comes from that. Same from God,because he disciplines us and chastens up, because he loves us. :-)
And thinking about you having been in the Southern Baptist church. Whereas I was brought up in an independent Baptist church,Calvinistic. I was taught to believe there, that we didn't know everything;but we knew more than anyone else and what we did know, was 100% correct and straight from God and that without question, thank you. :-) And I was taught to believe that folks like Billy Graham and other Southern Baptists, were in no church at all;but what might be called,a man made religious institution. Well,I was taught to believe that way about any denomination, besides my own. And while I didn't excape the local that local church and it's great influence on me,until I was 40 years old, God did allow me to excape it physically,by the time I was in my late 20's.
And sorry to hear that you're not being allowed to go ahead and teach in the Methodist church. But you do threaten things,if you don't see everything their way. If allowed to teach differently on somethings, you could even cause a pastor to lose his job and salary. And way too many people in denominational type churches, way too many people in those are tied up in believing their denomination is right and all of the rest are wrong. And if any see somethings differently from standard church teaching, they they're seen as a threat to the church/denomination.
And again, welcome to the group. :-)

Welcome friend. We on this forum sure come from different backgrounds. that way we share experiences and learn from one another. I too was a teacher and shared many truths that were not accepted. So be it. The Lord in ins control always, all the time in our lives. I found the attachment interesting and shared it with a few friends that found it intriguing. That's good. :friendstu:

I don't really know what to say! My name's Victor (as if you couldn't guess), I'm from Texas and found this site while Googling more information on Universalism. I am hoping to come to understand it a bit better and in fact am about to post a question in regards to it elsewhere in the forum. Hope to see some of you there! Hehe
Welcome brother.
