Title: Newbie Dave here :)
Post by: LoveDefeatsEvil on March 04, 2009, 08:32:05 AM
Hey everyone  :HeartThrob:

My name is Dave, age 37, live in the Ft. Worth, Texas area... and fairly new "convert" to Christian Universalism.

I recommitted my life to Christ in Dec. 07 after being away / in rebellion against Christ Jesus for the last 20 some odd years... While my faith has and love for God has been growing the last several months, it was still kinda superficial of sorts in that I really had trouble loving a God that would torture all in hell forever... just never sat real well with my spirit.

Long story, short version... For the last 3 or so months I've been praying and researching, trying to figure out how our God was "supposedly" merciful, loving, good, etc... and would allow so much confusion / religions block most people from really knowing that God is very real. I witness (in a kind manner) to 100's of intellectuals / atheists via Digg.com and an online game called Evolution (playevo.com)... and was getting very very frustrated that none of them could comprehend a loving God, especially with all the hateful Christians around, especially online.

The Holy Spirit has laid a real heavy "burden" on my heart for these folks... the thought of all of them being tortured in 'hell" forever just crushed me everyday... then after much prayer, I "found" Tentmaker.org and Bibletruths.com!

Talk about a burden being lifted off of me - WOW!
Now I know that it is God that will draw them to Christ in His timing and that my "burden" is only to love them and plant seeds. So much more I could type, but I'll cut it short... and just say... What an awesome God we serve!

Like night and day.... now my heart 'bleeds" of sorts for our Christian brethren that just don't know... especially the "fundies", but God's Will, will be done in His perfect timing!

I've been posting numerous Tentmaker articles and videos on Digg.com, Reddit.com FaceBook.com and dropping links here and there where I can.

May God use the seeds I plant for a plentiful harvest of truth in the coming months and years!

All glory and honor to our king... JESUS!

(Dave)

I'm so glad I did! What a great post!!!! It put a huge smile in my face (and in my heart.)
Welcome Dave! Hey, I'm 37 too.  :happy3:
Your path seems similar to my own.

Thanks for the warm welcome... sorry hadn't checked back on the post in a few days. Out of the habit of doing the forum thing with so many great UR articles popping up all over the place online.  :)

But based on the great attitudes and the obvious flow of the Holy Spirit around here, I'll have to get back in the habit of checking a forum.
