The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America's official theological stand is that Christian Universalism is correct.
However, I have found that many people in the congregations do not even know this, and still believe that some will go to hell.
A good friend of mine is a Pastor in one of the ELCA churches, in Long Island, NY. She is a firm believer in Universalism. I knew her for years, and we hadn't spoken about it....until one day, almost a year ago now, I would guess.
Now, they are a rather liberal church, in some ways, so you might not agree with all of their theology. They are very 'mainline' though, in many ways, believing in the Apostle's and Nicene creeds, and so on.
But, definitely worth a look!
