Greetings,
My parents found each other as their paths crossed on that difficult journey to a better understanding of Christ. Likewise, by God's grace I have been granted faith. Reaching adulthood-if indeed I've arrived-I've been pressed by a desire for that unique fellowship I haven't enjoyed outside of family. Last night I prayed and sought and found this site moments later. With His blessing I hope to "compete together in the faith of the evangel."
My scriptural beliefs include my Lord and Savior-> Jesus Christ, His millennial reign, "rightly dividing"/two evangels, God's wondrous plan to reconcile all things to Him.
Also, I theorize that you can lose your salvation if you prefer cake to pie, though I admit freely that there is no evidence whatsoever to support my claim and that I'm likely, and predictably, wrong.

For this very reason brother, I have invented CAKE-PIE, light luscious angel cake entombed between two tender crusts lightly sugared.

I was wondering whether your parents taught you the truth of God's plan for universal salvation, or did you find it otherwise?
We are raising our children with this truth and some people are concerned this will not make them serious enough about choosing to follow Christ. So I'd love to hear how you've experienced that.
Hi, and thank you. I can't tell you what a blessing it is to find some brothers and sisters out there.
That is a fascinating question, and I can understand the concern. My mother did explain the reconciliation of all to me, but it might help to explain how. Not sure if I wrote this above, but I've never met anyone outside of my family that believes as we do. Rather, not since I was very young and my family attended meetings with other believers around the state/region, though I don't have much memory of that time. As such I was brought up in modern Christendom, in the church (a Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination). From there, the natural inquisitiveness of childhood brought forth discussion regarding what I learned in Sunday school and so on. To the best of my knowledge I started those conversations, and she was there to guide me. I don't know if that is of any consequence. I do know I don't believe in choice, and I do believe that some seeds are sown in fertile soil... but rest assured that children will challenge anything that comes their way, and more importantly, everything is exactly where it should be, right in God's hands.
I'd like to share one other thing that may or may not help. In hindsight, it would seem that what I can only call the light of Christ, was with us and at our home. That any number of people that came by, or associated with us, were met with peace and a sense of safety. And believe me I'm sharing this boasting of Christ, not of myself or any other circumstance, as I didn't understand it at the time, in the least. Similarly, your children may be defaulted to leadership in one way or another. The strength of Christ-I believe-is evident, in oneself, to others even if not to you. I'm 94% sure I'm on the autism spectrum, and most attention is unwanted, and much less is leadership, but it happens! I don't know if you can explain that to a child, or should, but we do have responsibility, and it's terrifying, in a fear of God kind of way ;)

It spoke to me it's not about our exact theology (UR or not), but about knowing God, about Christ with and within us, about living by His Spirit.
