Hello everybody !
I have read a Couple of Universal Salvation books and
Have a hope in Universal Salvation, however when i read the Bible i struggle with alot of verses and allthough i dont Believe in eternal torment for the wicked many verses seem to teach life or death .
Here are some verses and texts i struggle with :
The Soul that sinneth shall die
The wages of sin is death
However, as it is written: "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived" -- the things God has prepared for those who love him-
Only those who love him ?
Wipe away the tears of all faces
Why would anybody be in tears if all are saved
Pain and sorrow passed away
Blashphemy of the holy spirit not forgiven now or in the coming age , seems pretty final to me ?
Eternal destruction
Blackest darkness
Second death becomes second life ?
Valley of slaughter/ghenna with corpses infested with undying worm
Seems destroyed forever ?
Destroy both body and soul in Ghenna/hell
Some of them that sleep in the dust awake to everlasting shame and contempt
This text seem to suggest everlasting or maybe agelasting shame and contempt?
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up
All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire," says the LORD Almighty. "Not a root or a branch will be left to them.
This too seem pretty final ? And it doesnt sound like a spiritual fire like some suggests to me it sounds like a final destruction of the wicked in a Lake of Fire/Oven ?
Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD has rejected them
Sounds like rejected forever ?
I will not accuse them forever,
nor will I always be angry,
for then they would faint away because of me, further down same text :
But the wicked are like the tossing sea,
which cannot rest,
whose waves cast up mire and mud.
There is no peace," says my God, "for the wicked."
12:2). (2) "To him that overcomes, all overcomes?
EVERYONE WHO LIVES AND BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE
eternal punishment" were "eternal life" then both would "go away into eternal life." You either receive punishment or life, not an endless life of punishment by God in one place, or endless life of reward in another place. Quote from http://www.robertwr.com
A website that helped me alot with the Hell doctrine even tho it teaches conditional immortality it can be a great help for those who are struggling with the Hell doctrine !
I Think thats all for now!
Hoppfully you can help me get a better understanding of those texts!
God Bless You!
