Not the ice-cream man Ross but I always use Simmo's icecreams to help people remember my name. Its short for Simeon a good biblical / hebrew name my parents gave me, but I find Simmo needs less explaining unless I feel in the mood to explain lel

Ah, the name game. T'is amazing how many conclusions get jumped to when people try to decide who we are and what we think- ergo categorisation is very much norm. Interesting that Paul advises us not to be conformed by the things of this age but literally transformed by the renewing of our mind/thinking patterns and idealisations.

Few good things up the developing Joondalup way.

Hey Simmo! I do live in Canada, and it is pretty good here. Been to the US once, but that was when I was 5 lol. I heard this place being called " America Junior." I would say that is a pretty fitting name, considering there is not too much difference between us and America.

It has been snowing a lot where I am though. I do like shoveling, it helps me think, pray, and reflect on things, all while getting exercise.

One of my Grandma's have some interesting stories about Americans, and I would say them here, but I don't want to offend anyone.  :laughing7:

Blessings

ML

Nah, I'm not really THAT rude about Americans. Though, I do think some folks in 'Merica think that they are the center of attention, and their problems are the only thing that matter. :icon_jokercolor:

Well, if you guys really want to know, I'll tell you 2 quick stories that my Grandma told me the other week. They aren't to rude in my opinion, but they aren't exactly nice either.

So, apparently a bit while back, my Dad and Grandma were out fishing on a boat. Not only that, but there happened to be this American fisherman beside them. So, as the day went on, my Dad caught a plethora of fish, over and over again. Meanwhile, the American had not caught any, not even one. This guy then started to get really furious, throwing expletives left and right, and more name calling than 2 irritated girls in a playground. This American then decided to switch places with my Dad. So they did. Guess what? My Dad continued to catch the same amount, maybe even more. Meanwhile, this guy continued to not catch a thing. After more swearing and name calling, the guy finally left. Apparently they talked to the guy that owned the dock, and he commented how stupid Americans are, how they come up here and don't know how to fish. Then, they get furious over this, and make a scene in front of everyone else.

This second anecdote is pretty quick. My Grandma had met another shop owner with an electronic kettle. The owner had mentioned how Americans had used the kettle for tea. But, instead of plugging the kettle in, they had put it on the stove top and burned the kettle until it broke. The cable attached to it was hard not to miss too.
