Title: Hi guys
Post by: Smelex on February 23, 2013, 04:44:31 AM
Hi there my name is Alex,
I started going to a Pentecostal church when I was about 14 and continued to attend church regularly until I was 21. I am pretty new to the idea of US, but a friend of mine has been speaking to me about it recently and I would like to learn more of what it is all about!

Welcome!  We "Tenties," and other believers in Universal Reconciliation (or whatever other names it goes by) rely not only on a Just God, but a Loving, Merciful, and Holy God.  Have you not been hearing (I know I did) preacher after preacher boast in Jesus who died for us on the cross, and took upon Himself the sins of the whole world?  Yup, I believe that, but what the ET preaches did not connect was that the voluntary sacrifice of Jesus paid ALL the requirements of God's Justice.

PAID IN FULL!

THAT is God's Justice:  to have His Own Son die in our place.  Man's Justice is to execute every last shred of retribution and punishment.  Our ways are not His ways, and He said as much in his Book.

Now with Justice taken care of and paid, what's left?  Love, Mercy, and Holiness are left!  That being so, who is God going to toss into "Hell"?  Answer:  no one!

Like any who come to Jesus we are dependent on Him by His Holy Spirit to change us from lost and carnal dogs into His image

Welcome Alex,
Something that turned my thinking around -
What "regular" churches teach as the "eternal fire of torment and/or torture" which they call hell,
is completely twisted from the eternal, holy, cleansing, consuming fire of God.
"Our God is a consuming fire"
"...but He (Jesus) will baptise you with fire"
And on the day of Pentecost the Holy spirit entered them, looking like tongues of fire. :2c: :Peace2:
