Title: Hi Everyone
Post by: HHeaven on October 14, 2007, 08:59:41 PM
My name is Ronda and I came to appreciate theological discussion and apologetics through what was, overall, a negative experience on CARM. I posted there (back in 2003-2004?) as HardyHeaven.

I migrated from CARM, in sympathy with the atheists, to AARM, which later evolved into TalkBeliefs. Throughout this process, I have come out of Fundamentalism, and now identify myself as a Christian Universalist. (While I have recently expressed on TB that agnosticism is the only logical position one can hold with regard to the positive existence of God, in my heart of hearts, I'm still a believer who simply cannot hold to the concepts of Biblical inerrancy and Eternal Torments as Gospel.)

I came to this site because I heard that Pearlsand, Tony N, Charles and Glen (NoShame) might be here. I seek to learn more Biblically accurate interpretations of Scripture, and to fellowship with those who, like me, believe that Christ's sacrifice was sufficient for all.

I will probably lurk more than post, but I wanted to introduce myself anyway.

My favorite verse in the Bible is 1Cor 13:12

"Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known."

To me this indicates what will happen when we, and even the unbelievers, see Christ face to face for the first time. We see NOW a dim reflection (a mirror could almost be described as an opposite reflection of what is true and real). But THEN (when He returns?) we shall see Him fully, as we are NOW fully seen by Him.

I believe that Christ sees us today and that He fully knows us. I believe that one day, once we truly see Him (without our religious presuppostions), we will see who we really are IN HIM, and that then, every knee will bow because of His glory.

That's my simple introduction. I hope to see you around.

Be blessed,

HHeaven.

Howdy and welcome, HH. You are certainly welcome to lurk, but I hope you will be led to post, also. I am sure you have much to add.

Hi Rhonda

:welcome: here

TonyN is here from time-to-time, not sure who Charles and Glen are we have a noname here.

It will be nice to see Tony. I miss reading his posts.

Charles is/was a poster there who sent me some books in the mail. Martin Zender Goes to Hell, and a couple of others that I can't recall the titles to at the moment. He was an awesome UR apologist who showed up on AARM, but never made the transition to TalkBeliefs.

Glen posted as NoShame back on CARM, then some on AARM, but I haven't seen him in quite a while either. He was an on-fire student of Scripture, and I watched him 'come out' of fundamentalism practically before my eyes. I was hoping that he and Charles were here. Oh well, I'll see 'em in the Kingdom, if not before, huh?

Do you all know Pearlsand? She's the one who posted the link to here from a thread on TalkBeliefs, and how I found you all. She's an awesome believer!

Oh well, enough name-dropping, lol. I've been discussing theology for a long time, but it seems like lately all I want to talk and read about is UR. It's hard to find people to fellowship with in my local area. I live in a very Baptist community, lol. I don't even dare bring up my beliefs to most people where I live.

Anyway, thanks again for the warm welcome. I look forward to jumping in, as time permits.

Take care.

Hi Ronda,

I just joined up here, but once belonged to the old boards here, years ago, and I've been reading the viewable boards for a while now.  But since you actually joined, I thought I'd join up again too with my old name here (Laurie).  I didn't realize all that I'd been missing (the other boards) by not joining...lol

I was hoping Gayle would come here, since there are obviously many here who are quite able to answer her questions.  But in any case, so glad you made it here.  Perhaps you can find some UR believers in your area now too through some posters here.

Hi Ronda

I used to read some on aarm and even joined but was so busy at a couple of other forums I never got really involved there. However it did lead me to wowbb which I love and use. Love their forum software.

Nice to meet you

Hello...  :NewB1: just reading all the intro's as I have time... discovering how little I know with regard to message boards... and blogs ect. You wrote: "I migrated from CARM, in sympathy with the atheists, to AARM, which later evolved into TalkBeliefs. Throughout this process, I have come out of Fundamentalism, and now identify myself as a Christian Universalist."

Never heard of CARM... TalkBeliefs, TB WowBB and the like... can only suppose at this stage... it is may not be necessary for me to know... as He seems to have been teaching me in other ways.

ALL in HIS timing... and according to the unfolding of His eternal plan for each of us it seems...  :wink3:
