Title: Hey everyone!
Post by: Tommy Dillon on March 15, 2009, 09:22:28 PM
Hey everybody,
My name is Tommy.  I'm from Pennsylvania.  I was brought up in the Roman Catholic Church until the age of 17, when I became a "born again christian," or so I thought.  God always blessed me with letting me know He was real, and He came in flesh as Jesus Christ, died, and rose from the dead, but I never really got it.  At the age of 17, I accepted Jesus as my savior, not knowing He chooses us, we don't choose or "accept" Him.  About 2 and a half weeks ago, while in despair, I was unable to sleep, I was scared that I, and my unbelieving family would still go to "Hell" bcause I couldn't obey and they didn't believe, and in His grace He had me call out to Him, and confess my comlete inability to even stop sinning and obey Him even though I thought I had accepted Him.  I asked Him for His Holy Spirit and to show me His love in a way that blew my mind.  The next day, while looking online, God directed me to some websites that proclaimed the best news I've ever heard.  Christ died for everyone's sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and since He died for everyone's sins and rose, everyone will be forgiven through Him.  Everyone will have fellowship with the Father through Him.  Christ is the Savior to ALL men, especially believers.  I wasn't redeemed by "accepting" Jesus into my heart, I, and everyone else who ever lived and will live, is saved by Christ's cross and resurrection.  Christ doesn't need my help in saving me, just as Adam didn't need my help in passing down the curse.  Christ's blood doesn't depend on me, I depend on it.  Best news ever!  The gospel of the kingdom is talking about Abraham's inheritence.  God has given me faith to believe and understand that.  That doesn't make me any better then unbelievers, it just means God showed me before He showed them, for a reason still unknown to me.  And I am so excited He will show everyone, in due time.  God knows what He's doing, God is patient, God is just, God is love, and God is One.  He is a righteous, just, patient, loving God, all at the same time, He is not schizophrenic.  I have no fellow brothers and sisters that I know of in my area, and would love to talk to whomever is willing.  Thank you!
