Standardbearer

I am a fairly new convert to Universal Restoration, having been raised in a Southern Baptist family. I began to see several years ago that things were not right in the church and that preachers and teachers have no answers for some of my tough questions. A dear friend pointed me in the right direction and I have been learning the TRUTH for nearly a year now. I have read many fine articles and listened to many tapes as well as having had some confirmations of the truth of UR in my own life. I am looking to fellowship with other like-minded believers after several years of reading and posting at a Christian website that descends deeper into apostasy every day. I am ready for some serious and relevant discussions on the truth of the sovereignty of God and the soon- coming manifestation of the Sons of God, as opposed to the traditions of men. My prayer is that we can teach, encourage, and exhort one another, without discussions degenerating into insulting verbal warfare as some of the other so-called Christian forums have become.

Hi Standardbearer

(http://www.tentmaker.org/forum/Themes/default/images/welcome_mat.jpg) to tentmaker.

BTW you are not a convert, your eyes have been opened.  UR is not a replacement theology and you will find even here that discussions can get heated but we do try to keep things civil.

Because we do not have articles of faith, the only common belief is their is no eternal torment and ultimately all men shall be saved.

Blessings

Welcome, Standard Bearer. I look forward to getting to know you and to explore the truth together.

Hello, Standardbearer.   :dsunny:

Thank God for dear friends that point us in the right direction, eh?
Years ago, I had a friend who inadvertently did the same for me.
I only heard the "gossip" about him-
how he didn't believe in eternal torment.
I never knew that anyone else believed that!
I was shocked, relieved and intrigued all at the same time!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, my use of the term convert was not really correct. My eyes WERE opened. Bless those friends who persist in fervent prayer.I pray that many other believers will also have their spiritual eyes opened. I look forward to learning much here, making new friends and being blessed. I did not realize there are so many others who know the truth. The kingdom of heaven truly is growing one stone at a time until the glory of the Lord will fill the entire earth. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God!

Welcome.  I've also been shown UR in the past year...it's liberating, then God keeps leading deeper into even more new truths...He has a plan, and you're in it.  God's blessing, James.

That's my prayer too. You'll find that the moderators here do a good job of walking that fine of allowing open debate while keeping the peace.

Welcome to tentmaker....
