This is my first post on the NEW-NEW-NEW Tentmaker Discussion Board. (I'm not sure how many versions there have been since I first stumbled in back in 2000).
And Happy New Year. I have not posted here since the board was revamped even though I pop by from time to time and read here and there. I just now registered. I could use a bit of uplifting fellowship. There is so much anger in the world that it makes me weary sometimes.

This is a true story. I "knew" the people.
This lady came to church and told her dream.

It feels wonderful to see you all again and to meet the newbies. I liked the bagel (Bay gull) joke.
I'm going to look around and see if anyone has been thinking about any of the things I've had on my mind recently which are:
1) The true meaning of what Paul meant when he said he wanted to know nothing but "Christ in you, and him crucified". I'm pretty sure I understand that to mean a place of total humility before both God and men -- no longer resisting evil or protesting how misunderstood and mistreated we may be.
and
2) The meaning of being COVERED BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST - which I think is closely linked to # 1, in that, to be COVERED BY THE BLOOD, you must have Christ in you - CRUCIFIED! I don't think I'm there yet because even though I don't demand people apologize for abusing me and wanting to crucify me without a cause, I still feel deeply hurt by it, and a little angry.
I didn't quite understand these two things until just recently when it seemed that God revealed it to me. Please tell me if you think I'm not seeing it properly.
Okay, I'm off to see what's posted.

We are reconciled thru HIS Death, and made ALIVE thru HIS Resurrection. Can't remember
where it says that, somewhere in Romans, I think.
And as far as the BLOOD "covering" .........well, He as the Resurrected Christ is our
COVERING, but His Blood which flows from the Throne, washes. So we are "covered" AND
WASHED! When He gets thru with you, He will present to Himself an ANNE without SPOT
or blemish!

There comes a time when He makes you take ALL doctrines and lay them on the altar, and the ONLY one you are permitted to know is Christ and Him crucified. I say He makes, but when the revelation comes as to why, you are happy to fearfully (thru the true fear of the Lord), lay them down. "Leave us alone, you religious nuts!" yelled the first driver as he sped by. From around the curve they heard a big splash.
"Do you think," said one clergy to the other, "we should just put up a sign that says 'bridge out' instead?"

Hi RA. I'm new here, pretty new to UR, and just out of denomination this past week. I've been through the fire, and it sounds as if you may be in it. One post in my welcome that has stuck with me was along the lines of God taking (as the Children of Israel) out into to the wilderness, and basically stripping of us of all...so He can rebuild us, and I'll add, to His glory and OUR benefit, wanting only the best for us. He loves you and will see you through this...another post said for me to "be patient with those who wonder what the heck happened to you". God's blessing. James.
Hi James! Thanks for the welcome. I've been in and out of the fire many times. This one's not as hot as some of the others :-) It just takes effort and obedience to keep our minds steadily on Christ. I think many "fires" are really just a lack of focus (and we are weak/mortal).

I agree RA, especially the weak/mortal part. I think God is teaching me more about how our experiences and influences affect us and how we need to see others. I was raised in a sort of "look down on the heathen" environment, and God's showing me I shouldn't be a respecter of persons, not everyone has had the same opportunities, etc., and our task is to love them and let Him give them faith as He chooses. Also, He seems to be teaching me that even our "goofs" from our being weak and mortal and unfocused are really Him still using everything to refine us and bring us where He wants us...: "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose", Romans 8:28.
