Hi.
When I joined had done so with the intention of debating thoughts, idea and concerns I had about the doctrine of Universal Salvation but it's a large thread and I am concerned about repeating previously stated 'wisdom' that could cause difficulties for present members and future members which I hope there will be.
I also read the rules and got even more concerned given that I don't know what everything means and read that the moderators have similar concerns to those I mentioned above.
I did have some ideas where to start but beyond that I'm not sure if I'll get on here as I'd hoped.

Shouldn't we, for the sake of humility, at least be pretending that none of us think we are actually are well versed in God's plan to save all humanity from the foundation of the world?
No, actually that kind of my problem. I've discovered from experience that I don't come across that way when writing. I have frequently been given the impression that everything I write is rude even when that was not the intention, I tend not to skirt round arguments with pleasantries and qualification that I can see the pertinence of as I don't think that way and I tend to write as I think.
So my reasons for coming here. Practicing evangelism? I'm not a very good evangelist in fact I have to consider myself among the poorest; it's not something I tend to do, it's not part of my natural skill set which, to be honest, I'm not sure I've identified yet. In fact I feel pretty sure I haven't.
But I can, I feel, deconstruct the Bible but have no way of knowing if I'm getting inspiration from God or I'm just making stuff up. I feel many of these ideas need testing and a like minded community seemed a good place to start. And if they are found worthy then hopefully they will be transmitted into the wider Christian community if necessary and if not they will be exposed as the falsehoods that they are.
Obviously that's very clinical and an example of what I mentioned above. There are many other reasons why I have chosen that place to be Tentmaker but they don't seem pertinent to this explanation.
However, as I said if anything has already been said and accepted I don't need to say it again. I don't want to start new threads for subjects that already have threads because that looks like setting up a soap box which I'm not meant to do nor do I want to. At the same time loads of subjects have many topics because many people have questions about those topics. I don't want to repeat my arguments in all those threads or speak in one thread what someone else has said in another. So it could take some searching before I can say anything. Then I have to choose which thread to respond in.
Now I'm just waffling. I'd best get on with discussing stuff now. I'm afraid of waking up too many old threads because people tend not to like that but I think there are some places were it's easier to do that than others.

Hi, Cardinal. I've had that experience on another forum and they were only old threads from the recent past that I was catching up on because by internet access had been reduced recently due to flooding. Glad it's not so here.
