Please do NOT let my screen name trouble you; it's a facetious remnant of an old AOL stock market bulletin board.
I found this board after recently googling "end of the age," and was impressed with posts on aion by rjohmson741. Forty two years ago I turned to the God of the Scriptures. Two years later I learned the Greek alphabet, and two years following, married the only wife I've ever known. As a young believer I was much impressed with the works of E.W. Bullinger, but abandoned ultra-dispensationalism after my wife found a Greek O.T. Septuagint. Along with the N.T. critical Greek texts, I went through major paradigm shifts in tracking words from Genesis to Revelation in ONE very consistent language, Greek. Not only was Greek the lingua franca of the Mediterranean at the time of Christ, but even the Book of Hebrews cites the Greek LXX, not the Hebrew O.T. I am, however, after the Hebrew understanding, not the pagan Greek. I hope to contribute and learn much.
Blessings and peace, Max
:welcome: :newb: Hi Max, look forward to hearing from you.
Welcome Max;
Miss translation is one big contributor to the false doctrines which surround us.
Variations between languages can indeed cause Miss understanding to come to the fore.
The truth is indescribable about the whole of humanity and the wisdom for all of this is "In Christ."
The living word is glorious.
Welcome and God bless you and yours bro MM . :HeartThrob:
Amen bro Ross , The living word is glorious. :dsunny:

Very true. After starting with the King James (KJV) and seeing many inconsistencies within itself and from the Hebrew and Greek, I thought it the result of a "committee" translation. But there was more involved. As Isaiah spoke and Christ repeated: the doctrines and traditions of men make God's communication of little effect. Many who understood Christ's Hebrew Aramaic dialect could NOT understand what he was saying. He often had to explain himself even to his own disciples. Others who
did understand what he said got very angry and hated him for it. This board is an encouragement to me.
Thanks max and welcome.

Over the last 15 years I wrote the same number of single-page letters, starting as bulletin-board posts, most dealing with the Scriptures. I've emailed, snail-mailed and hand-delivered them to many people over time. One of the two things I usually tell them is "I'm not selling anything."
:welcome: Max! Glad to 'meet' you! Hope you'll be around a lot! :hiya!
