Hi,

I am Bob.  I am 54,married (for 31 years), father, grandfather.  Currently I earn money by managing the information systems deparment for a manufacturing company (that just means I make sure all the computer stuff is working properly).  Most notably in the past I have worked as a mechanic, Infantryman, Pastor and farmer.  I spend my free time studying the
Scriptures, flying my plane, bicycling and sailing.

For over 30 years I have struggled with what I saw as huge gaps in reason regarding how we preached the Good News.  It seems to me that most people had a better chance of winning the lottery then they did of obtaining salvation.  At what was worse the "church" didn't seem to care or at least make sharing the "good news" much of a priority.

Only very recently have I begun to see what I finally realize was there all along. The trigger was just a few second view of the interview with Carlton Pearson on a cable rerun.   The only reason I even remembered his name to google it is because I fly out of an airport called Pearson airfield.    In any event I have spent most of the last several weeks studying based on links from tentmaker.  I very much look forward to participating in this board and hopefully meeting people in our area (Portland, Or).

Bob,

Welcome to TM...

I'm 55...took flying lessons in my youth, motion sickness did me in...I'm an Ompa, married and my wife and I moved to Portland a year ago.

I was told that there are 165 coffee houses in a three mile radius from my home and would be happy to meet with you at one of them or at one near your home. We live in the Hawthorne District.

Again, welcome to Tentmaker.
