Title: great resource site
Post by: Jfperry on October 23, 2016, 02:41:49 PM
I am a first time poster and just want to express my appreciation for all of the well done research on the main topic of Christian Universalism.  I have been a Christian for 45 years and I have been led to the conclusions that the resources on this site teach.  I live in Rodhester, NY and if anyone has some idea of any churches in the area that are similiar that have similiar beliefs, it would be appreciated.

Welcome to the best corner of the www!  Like many, you seem to have connected the dots after many years as a Christian.  I live far from New York, so can't help with a church.

Hi, Jfperry,

You might want to try an Evangelical Lutheran Church of America church.

I know a Pastor from that denomination, and did some investigating on my own, and I realize that their stand is that all are saved, and I believe they stick to the belief that only through Christ are all saved.

I have some further investigating to do, but that is where I see it, at this point in time.

I don't know if you will like or agree with all their other beliefs. In some way they are very traditional, and in other ways, very liberal.

They do believe the Apostle's and Nicene Creeds.

That is the best I can offer you, at this time.

Blessings on your search!

D.

hi, Jfperry!

When I googled - christian universalism churches Rochester new york

this link came up - http://www.gracechurchpca.com/?gclid=Cj0KEQjw4rbABRD_gfPA2-uQqroBEiQA58MNdGuAqUulegLE8Lz2AWbCUFtpTIuPoknK8DfXIYFAb7EaAh618P8HAQ - I don't know how near or far they may be, but there's a map on this page

And their "what to expect" page - http://www.gracechurchpca.com/what-to-expect - sounds pretty good (no mention of UR, but interesting!)

I'm assuming it's possible "universalism" is a search tag of this church's website.

There did come up a link for a "First Universalist Church" but they seem to be of all faiths, christian and nonchristian..

Hope you find what you're looking for! Maybe an ad in the paper or something would bring some results.. That's an intriguing question.. how do we find a U.R. church? Is there a list here on tentmaker I wonder..?
        :Peace2: God bless!!

Thank all of you for trying to help.  I will investigate the suggestions you mentioned further.  I was first introduced to UR by reading FW Farrar writings about 2 years ago and since then I am convinced that this is the truth.  Thanks again.
