Hi everyone! I am very excited to be a part of the discussions here. I found this site while researching the connection between the Bride of Christ and the term "It is Finished". Have a great day! :dsunny:
Welcome to the band

It was your post that brought me here White wings. :)
Can you tell me where you got this info?
"Bride = kallâh = כּלּה = Pronounced as: kal-law
Bread = Challah = חלה = Pronounced as: khaw-law
Finished = Kalah = כלה = Pronounced as: kaw-law "

I sorta guessed that because I'm the only one around here that's interested in such things

My stuff usually comes from many sources. In this case from a book and a lexicon. It's just mentioned. No explanation of any sort, if that's what you are looking for.
No, I am not looking for an explanation. I am actually interested in more info like it. I want to know more about Jesus as the Bridegroom and I know He made a lot of Bridal/Marriage based comments when He was alive that is lost to us due to lack of historical understanding and language barriers. I was hoping you got it from a book that addresses much of what Jesus said and how it relates to marriage in that era/language. If you do know of such a book I was hoping you would share the title and author with me so I could read it. :laughing7:

I'm curious to hear if you have a theory on the identity of the Bride of Christ. I ask because I have a book in progress on the subject.
You are aware that Yahweh (YHVH) means "Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand" if you plug in the very ancient pictographic meanings of the letters, right? It's Jesus, and YHVH married corporate Israel at the mountain. Do you see the future BoC as the same, or as a different, entity?
Thank you for welcoming me Lazarus! That is a wonderful interpretation "Behold the nail, Behold the hand." I was just wondering about that a few days ago. I did a bit of research on the different names of God and their meanings and the promises that lay within them. Such Beauty and strength and hope to be found in those names!! I love Behold the nail and Behold the hand. He took our pain on the cross, and what a wonderful name to remind us that the work has been done, the pain has been suffered and it is no longer ours to be endured. Thank you for sharing that with me.
I am not going to pretend to be a pro on the theories of the Bride- and I do not have enough info to place a theory on the identity of the Bride. I know that in my heart I feel as if His return for us as in preparing a place for us in his fathers house may speak of us (the believer) as the Bride. I have been taught that It was part of the engagement in Biblical times that the man would leave the bride to be to set up a place on his fathers property and then come back to return for the bride at a time that was least expected (often in the middle of the night) and the Bride would need to be ready for Him to receive her back to the house he prepared. I feel as if that is a perfect mirror image of What Christ has done by going to prepare a place for us in the Fathers house. I feel as if we are a part of the Bride of Christ. I feel that the whole Bible is a beautiful love story (factual and true). Even from Adam and Eve the story that opens the door for us to discover His genuine Love for us. It separated us from God but without the fall we would have never been able to realize the depth of Love and how far God was willing to go to mend the tear we placed in our relationship with God. Adam and Eve are responsible (through their fall) for our knowledge of the genuine Love of God- never to have been realized without the fall.
I believe we (the current past and future Lovers of Jesus/God are the Bride). But like I said I still have a lot to learn. :) I would love to hear what you think, and what you have discovered in your research.

They weren't married but betrothed. Maybe that's splitting hairs, maybe it's something different...
Maybe part of your answer is in the exact date they crossed the Red Sea....

Later on in the OT, God describes Himself as married to two sisters: Israel and Judah. As for the date of the Exodus, a lot of dates have been proposed, but I think it was subsequent to the island of Thera blowing up, a rather early date.

Correct.

Not just the bride had to be ready. The virgins also. All 22 of them.

If you truly seek those answers be prepared to make a sacrifice. You have leave Christianity behind because that's just replacing one dead letter of the law with another dead letter of the law.
The real gems and patterns aren't hidden in the Greek text or the ability to put dozens of verses in a post. Those things are just the doorway to the real patterns that only Hebrew thought will reveal.
Ok, I started this post with "hidden words" I'll end likewise.
Deuteronomy is Devarim in Hebrew.
Devarim in Hebraic understanding means the "mouth" of Torah; a summarizing all that has happened before in "the main body."
Another word for this book in Hebrew is Suf Debar – last words. It contains Moshe's last words, his farewell discourse and a song to Israel.
Agriculturally, Devarim/Deuteronomy means to point back to a food source, or head of the house.
Devarim is: Dalet-bet-resh = Devar (word). Dalet being the door, bet/resh is bar, the son. Debar, The Word is the door through which the Son comes.
Deuteronomy = Devarim = The Word is the door through which the Son comes.

Ok, I am not really sure what just happened in here...... but I feel like a war is waging that I do not understand. Is the Christian viewpoint not really welcome here? My intentions were never to cause a dispute or debate. I am sorry if my questions caused some strife. I thought this was a Christian forum.... but maybe I didn't research it well enough. I am sorry for causing conflict here.
You again? :dsunny: (just kidding)
I just answered your PM with the same question so I won't type it again. Gotta work a bit.
There is no war on this forum. You have to understand this forum isn't a denomination like Catholic, Pentecostal etc in which all people think according too the often strict rules of their denomination.
People here come from many backgrounds and likely still partly think partly according to their previous background.
All believe in Jesus. All believe in the same final outcome of God's plan. But the agreement on exactly how that happens isn't 100%. Far from 100% in certain cases.
And that was what my remark is about. I (strongly) disagree with the views of several people on this forum because their way of approaching the Scripture is like knitting a veil. And likewise, many disagree with my approach.
So SoL, ask one question and be prepared to get 3 different answers  Not just someone reading something from the statutes of a denomination.
I hope that clears things up.
/EDIT
QuoteI thought this was a Christian forum
It 100% certainly is.
Everyone on this forum agrees upon one thing. Jesus is the saviour of all.
Greetings Song of the Lamb ,
WW is right, we do believe in Jesus Christ 100%
and we are all in different places when it comes to interpreting the scriptures. Its always Been up to the Lord God, the Father , to give the increase .
and that is not a bad thing sis , learn lots from different points of view [POV]
One thing I have noted it they all look for the Mercy of God in the judgments , something the carnally minded fail to see in the ways of God .
Mercy triumphs over judgment , judgments can mean opinions , and everyone has an opinion , but not everyone shows mercy in judgment/ opinions ...
Love never fails the tests , but everything else does when we take it to heart :HeartThrob:

Sister, all families have their disagreements because everybody sees things a little differently. Don't feel like you caused any bad vibes here. Most of us believe God is the savior of all mankind, and all on earth and in the heavens will be reconciled through Christ at the consummation of the eons. But folks here and elsewhere just tend to have different interpretations of scripture, some more or less literal or figurative. Some even come here out of curiosity not believing in universal reconciliation. Believers don't necessarily have to agree on interpretation of scripture or even understand everything about the evangel. Just be willing to accept brothers and sisters for who they are, and don't let pride get in the way of sharing God's love when somebody expresses an opinion that disagrees with yours.
Jesus Christ is Lord!
Eph 1:9 He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,
1 Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming, then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says, "All things are put in subjection," it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.
Phil 2:9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He s before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.
He is RECONCILING ALL!
Welcome :o)
Welcome!
Thank you everyone for taking the time to welcome me! I am excited about building relationships here and being sharpened by the Word of God. I am glad I found this site. Thanks again! :dsunny:
I'm glad you enjoy the forum, sis. As you can see, the discussion can get lively sometimes. Don't hesitate to contribute. We all have our own perspective to share, and we're all family here.
Thank you Tom! I do not debate.... but I love to hear peoples thoughts. I am a firm believer that (besides the building Blocks of the Bible such as salvation and Gods Love) people are all given a different Glimpse of Gods face. We may disagree in what we see because we are looking at a different aspect of God. But many times we are seeing exactly what God wants us to see because it is serving a purpose that we may not understand. I may read a verse and See love and Grace, and another person may read the same verse and see conviction and repentance. The Spirit is speaking to each person differently- neither are right or wrong. They are just seeing it in alignment with the Will of God in their lives at the time that God sees fit. Three years down the road they may see it differently. The key is to Love one another despite the differences and accept that God is big enough to reveal His perfect message at the perfect time. :) At any rate I am excited to be a part of Loving and Sharing with one another. Thank you again for welcoming me!!
I agree, sister. We all have a different perspective, and who is to say who is right and who is wrong because God reveals the truth to us all through our own life experiences? I think being stubborn about or arguing about a particular point of view can be counterproductive. Scripture is able to be interpreted various ways, but I think what is most important is to love our brothers and sisters. I think we will eventually find out what will happen in the future, but debating about it is kind of like folks these days debating about who they think will run the government. Why not just get a general idea of what you think is going on, and then wait and see what happens? I don't think there's really any difference because, if you're doing what you're supposed to be doing anyway, regardless of how things go down, you're covered. That's why I don't get mad when somebody disagrees with me or gets puffed up about it because I think it's amusing. It's like arguing about the weather. You can't really change it, but you can kind of get an idea of what you think will happen and act accordingly. I don't think we should be too impressed by our own knowledge because it is limited by what God chooses to reveal to us at the time for whatever reason. I think we're all given just as much truth as we can handle to see what we do with it. Do we use it to glorify ourselves or to edify our brothers and sisters? I also think we're all dealing with trying to see things clearly that have been distorted by church doctrine for most of our lives. Anyway, I think I know where you're coming from, and I like what you said. God bless you, sis.
Thank you Tom, Yes I agree with everything you said here. Its about humility, Love, and trust that God has each of us in his hands. You made some wonderful points. Thank you!
