My name is Romans623, but my frends call me Romans.
Last night I "Googled "Lazarus and the Rich Man" in an effort to see if there were any Websites that explained this difficult Parable of Jesus.
Google listed "Tentmaker.org's" Website as among the top of the list.
I read their explanation, and I was (almost literally) floored by it.
It has to be one of the most inspiring and insightful Bible Study papers I have ever had the privilege to read!
I am looking forward to exploring your Website, and seeing what other insights I can be blessed with.

My flooring happened 2 years ago -- not by this excellent article, but by the overall message of the tentmaker site.
If you haven't noticed already, tentmaker departs from traditional Christianity on the subject of the (really) good news of the gospel.
My prayer for you is simply that you'll be a good Berean (Acts 17:11) and not be afraid to go whereever the scriptural evidence leads.
And I recommend that you check out the articles and books shown on the left side of the www.tentmaker.org home page.

I browse around sometimes, and came across this thread. Does anyone else find it puzzling that Romans was on TM discussion forum for a total of 7 minutes? He made his excellent post, and 7 minutes later signed off and hasn't been back. It's just one of those interesting tidbits I come across that catches my attention and makes me go "hmmmmm". I know there are multiple possibilities, sometimes my mind just works overtime - and then sometimes, not enough. :bigGrin:

I have thought this myself about certain ones who post and never return. There are quite a few of them. I have wondered if they don't like what they read or if it is for some other reason that they don't come back? I myself don't have a lot of time to post, that is why I am not on here much. Sometimes I just come on here and read what others have to say and don't even post. Every now and then I like to stick my nose in and give my :2c:. Don't know if you call that trolling or not? :happy3:

I know when I first signed up here, I made my welcome post and then didn't post again for months. I couldn't quite follow everything that going on here at the time, so I joined some other forums to stir up trouble first :winkgrin: However, at the time making that one initial post was a requirement to make some of the other groups visible, so there was some motivation there to at least post once.
Anyway I eventually came back. :Sparkletooth:

Romans might just be like me...busy. I found Tentmaker quite awhile ago. I'm encouraged and uplifted by what I see. I don't write often, but I am out here.
I find it quite likely that some newbies don't know that all they have to do is hit the link at the top of the forum board to check "where THEY posted" Last... in saying... they don't remember or know how to find there old post out of thousands of posts...
This really did happen to me... it took me 6 months to figure this one trick out, because I didn't like reading instructions....

If they are like me they go through phases. For a long time studying universalism was just kind of back burner to everything else going on in life (of course I didn't know that tentmaker existed - so maybe they really have no excuse!). It's not that I wasn't interested or wouldn't have responded enthusiastically if I read something.
I also am more interested in reading the articles and other material than reading the forums - they take priority because of the thought and time that goes into every word and the cohesiveness of the arguments. Maybe people get what they need there. I also need the interaction with like minded people though.
I truly am surprised there aren't more people on this forum. I know that forums just aren't some people's thing. I wonder too how many people get kicked off because they can't behave themselves.
