While I agree with "universalism" (although adding ism to anything in my view is not a good idea,
I think the philosophy apparent on the website errs in the same fashion but in the opposite direction
as your typical hellfire and brimstone preacher.
Do you really think say Adolf Hitler and you are on the same path of redemption?
There is only one WAY — for ALL.
And many here do not like the labels and isms, either.
No.
By God's grace, some are saved, born anew from above by His Spirit. Nothing done to deserve it, His free gift of salvation given to some, the ecclesia, in this lifetime. Set aside for a purpose, at least in part to be instrumental in bringing the rest in. The few enter in by this narrow path.
The many take the broad road that leads to destruction. Destruction as in, anything not of God being burned away, so the spirit may be saved in the Day of the Lord - "hurt" (tormented [basanismo, tested as with a touchstone] by the Second Death. God sets the conditions for eventually all to die to self and every knee bow, every tongue confess.
My understanding, James.
Thanks for the replies.
I'm glad that there is some distinction here. I think that is my primary problem with "universal
salvation" in that it is used to simply justify any type of evil behavior.
God Bless
Paul addresses this question in the Scriptures.

Didn't Jesus forgive his murders on the cross? Many Hitler types in the Roman empire.
KJV1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Is this chief forgiven?

:cloud9: I have met those that think everything goes and call it grace. They have a skewed understanding of grace, IMO, and like Beloved said, Paul deals with that because he knew the opposite of truth would raise up in men. Blessings and welcome to the board....
Oh so true Card, and that thought is seen a lot among ET believers as well.
I believe in universal salvation and also that we are to strive to love and uphold community rules and laws. We have a system of professionals that protect us from those who wish to harm. I think that this belief is supported by Christ's teachings and Paul's letters.

I'm going to be the monkey wrench in here and say the "path" may be different, but the destination is the same. I believe God's grace goes beyond the logic of any man. But I also beleive there are consequences when we make bad decisions. Hitler was no greater or lesser of a man than myself so why would the redemption for him be any different than it is for me?
yes, he did some extremely horrendous things in his life. But who am I to hand down what vengence he should get for his actions? Jesus stated that if you break one law, you broke them all. I do believe Hitler is redeemed because the same blood applied to my sin has been applied to his. Is not the blood of the cross strong enough to cover his sin as well?
Being saved does not affect my final destination. What it "does" is it enables me to reproduce the nature of the Father in and through my life into other people's lives. It enables me to "see" the kingdom. It frees me from the power of my "self" here and now. It equips me with authority to rule over my "self" and experience a peace and joy that my mind can't put into words because it can't comprehend the depths of what's taking place. But my final destination is the same as EVERYONE else's regardless of my mind currently acknowledging the existance of Christ or not.

Amen!
We tend not to realize what kind of perfect grace we've been given in getting the redemption in THIS life too!
People think about the FUTURE salvation all the time but don't we realize that we can now taste life like no one before Christ?
Those saved by pure grace before death have the tremendous GRACE of tasting the glory of God before everyone else, we are filled with his precious Holy Spirit and with peace, joy and hope that are not of this world!
Oh how I yearn that every elect could understand and I'm included in these, what precious and marvelous grace we've been the benefactor of.
