After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door, then will you stand outside knocking and saying, 'Lord, open the door for us.' He will say to you in reply, 'I do not know where you are from.'

And you will say, 'We ate and drank in your company and you taught in our streets.'

Then he will say to you, 'I do not know where (you) are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers!'

And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves cast out.

And people will come from the east and the west and from the north and the south and will recline at table in the kingdom of God.

For behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last."
Ironically, the second reading was based on Hebrews 12, describing the Lords disciplines and punishments for purposes of teaching righteousness.
But when I looked at the Gospel readings, I got a lump in my stomach considering we had a guest priest. I started thinking, "What's the sermon going to be about today". I know very well, that this is one of the popular scriptures used to prove an ever tormenting hell. We know that this was aimed at the ultra religious hypocrites being last in the kingdom. But the priest never even mentioned anything about punishment. His whole sermon was about acting like Christ, not calling yourself a Christian. He said that he was at a loss about what to preach about. Had this only been a Fundamentalist Preacher, we would know what the sermon would be about. But he said that he prayed and this was what the Holy Spirit told him to preach about.
You know that the Churches are beginning to shy away more and more when they can completely avoid talking about that horrible lie despite traditional understanding. Even more Ironic was also Pauls letter of Reformative punishment.
Many of these punishment scriptures concern life upon earth not in some hell dungeon. Notice the gnashing of teeth. Spirits do not have teeth, Abraham Issac and Jacob are old testament prophets that are in Jerusalem and people from the east, west and south are coming to meet them. This must be talking about the 1000 millenium peace, when the lord will rule and his people will be judges. Alternatively it could be after the 1000 millenium peace during the time of new jerusalem where those without are dogs, liars etc.
There is a possiblity of something else here, my mindblowing revelation that God showed me. I'm not gonna show it though yet, because I plan on starting my own book series and make a million dollars, for this could be the greatest revelation since 1000 years ago apart from maybe Ur.

That is an interesting thing indeed. I've noticed, that Hell is being merely mentioned as well, at least when it comes to the church I'm visiting now. Though mentioned none the less. Hell fire preaching is dying out with the unquenchable flames they preach, or so I would pray and hope.
That reminds me though, maybe there should be some practical teachings on "Judgements in this Life for Sin", what to avoid, how to avoid, and what the actual effects, and testimony of it are...open discussion about biblical justice, and God's justice sent upon us, and where Grace, and Forgiveness, and Consequences all fall into place...That is something that is seriously lacking from our congregations especially;
"Meeeeh...You shouldn't do this...because...you know? Sin hurts."
Well...alright but any specific sort of road map you can give us? Any thing you can help us with from the bible, and how to apply it to our life in this area so we can avoid curses?

I'm just curious, and you don't have to answer if you don't want to ... but are you a lifelong Catholic?
I ask, because I am. I'm 49 years old, have attended mass every week since infancy (and daily mass often), and I can honestly tell you I've heard no more than 3 sermons that mention hell, and those are not the infamous "hellfire" type either.
It's just surprising to me, that you seem surprised, I guess is what I'm saying. Nearly every sermon I hear is about how to apply the scripture readings of that day to your own life in this day & age. For me anyway, this isn't a change in the church at all.

Yes I am, but I was found out fCatholic Answers that they were real fire and brimstone.
that is interesting, i believe that most of the leaders from babylon are just no willing to offend. they believe in hell but not sure they want to scare the people. they also will about many of the things that can be labeled an abomination in Gods eyes. i believe that they just do not want to offend or they really do not know what they are teaching. at least that is the way i see it in my pentecostal church.

And not 3 hell sermons out of 1000's as LS' experience is.

The mentions are about 1 of the things covered with the English "hell" word to 25 "heaven," usually plural as in the "kingdom of the heavens."
