The wages of sin is death. but the gift of God is age-abiding life.
Heard that many times from the pulpit.
then there would be so many rules and regulations to try and keep myself doing enough to be saved.
On the so-called spiritual side I was a baptist deacon. I used to be in charge of the music team. I have been baptised. I have had the laying on of hands. I have been on a missionary trip to try and win souls for Christ. I have done the attempts at casting out demons. Been to late night prayer vigils to fight for the heavenly powers that control a city.
On the physical side I could have died from a car crash which occured when I was having an eplipeptic seizure. My foot locked the accelerator to the floor and I smashed into a brick wall at top speed in a small car. I have since had the short circuit that was letting off an electric impulse in my brain be surgically removed. The piece cut out would be the size of a couple of sugar cubes. I was in an oxygen tent as a 2 year old. My appendix were on the point of bursting at 13 years old. I have had blood clots fill my lungs to 75% and had to have blood thinning warfrin for a while.

There are many other incidents that go on top of all this. No-one in the church was able to give me support when the going got tough to the point that I did not bother or want to tell them what I was going through in case they would then tell me I was sinning so bad or had not confessed enough to get rid of the point of access satan was using to control my life.

However.
I now have the confident assurance that God is greater than satan[ particularly highlighted in Job where satan was only allowed to interfere because God let him. God still placed limitations on what and where and when satan could do anything] When wages are paid in full there is nothing that needs to be added. Christ paid for me in full. His works are sufficient for me. His mercy covers a multitude of sins. Because of what He has done we are now to be called sons of God, joint heirs with Jesus. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.Christ is the alpha and the omega. He knew us before the foundation of the world and we are in His plan. What a promising glorious future. That all explains why His sacrifice had to be so intense that He paid for us all in Full.
There on top of all that is  the Gift. The gift of God is eternal life.
What a gift. 1 Cor 13 speaks of His awesome love. He never keeps records of wrongs, so why should we.
And then the promise
1 Cor 13;12, " For we as yet see obscurely through a dim window, but then face to face; as yet I gain knowledge in part, but then I shall know fully even as I was fully known."

Hope that is encouraging. He loves us all so much.
