Title: Site/Forum Issue
Post by: jabcat on June 25, 2020, 09:50:42 AM
Hey all.  The site has been in process of being switched over to a new server which should make it much more stable and ensure its stability and existence into the future.  I wasn't directly involved in it, but it seems it was a tedious operation with some question of the ability to "save" everything about the forum, and some problems were encountered along the way.  Looking good right now  :dsunny:

Please report  here  any problems you might come across, broken links, etc., as Gerry wants to know so he can ask IT to follow up on the them.  TY.

Bump.

Gerry is hoping this is it, that the upgrades are now in place and the site is set for the future.  However, he's aware there could still be glitches, and wants to know if folks catch/experience them.  Thanks, James.

There appears to be a problem with sending private messages. I sent a message and it didn't show up as a sent message on my page and I didn't see it confirm that it was successfully sent...

Yes, some things are still in flux.  A major thing is Karen, our techie, had her husband fall and injure himself badly.  She has been under immense strain with this issue.  They need our prayers.  Things will improve over time as various processes get straightened out.

Is there any way to send an email to all members letting everyone know the site is back up? You all were my church and now this forum is basically dead :crywipe:

IF YOU NEED DONATIONS i WILL GLADLY GIVE.....this site needs to keep going at ALL costs...I fear the message of UR is dying under the onslaught of the ETC believers in the 'evangelical' movement

Hi darryl.  Thank you!  I think it's more a matter of organization, everyone being on the same page, and Karen's own personal issues with her husband's illness.  I will do some contacting about the problems mentioned and see if I can get someone to temporarily step in for Karen and check on them.  As far as financially, there used to be a donation portal when Gary had the site, but since then I don't think there is one.  Gerry told me everything is being routed through his "Hope for All" ministry, basically expenses for TM coming from that centralized location - which basically means I think, out of Gerry's pocket and/or whatever support he is given.  I would recommend if anyone wishes to help they could contact Gerry directly @ gerry@hopeforallfellowship.com.  Thanks!  James.

I have notified Gerry of issues/requests, and asked if one of our IT folks could pay us a visit to address these issues.  Thanks!

I asked this evening if IT could look at the posting issue re: apostrophe/quotations turning into question marks within posts.
