Wheat and tares parable

Matthew 13:27-29
So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

Ofcourse the above is about spiritual life. Wouldn't it be better for the wheat to live in a clean enviorment?
I think many saints fall away because they are growing in a field of tares (=sin)
Plus why let a small tare (=sin) grow into a huge tare (lots of sin) if that is not beneficial for both wheat and tare?

WhiteWings i think its the usual 'you cant know a good thing unless you know a bad thing' argument here.
Jesus said that anyone can love those who love them, but it takes someone Godly to love and pray for their enemies. 
Paul said he rejoiced in infirmities and gloryed in tribulations etc.

Every enemy we come across is our chance to be Godly.
