Title: What are some of the lousiest justifications you heard for everlasting hell?
Post by: Universalist Catholic on May 02, 2010, 06:01:30 AM
Worst one that I heard was that someone asked what the purpose of Hell was and the response was "Purpose is only relevant to time, but hell exists outside of time and therefore has no purpose"  Sounds like some really absurd philosophy that you would have to be really bored to come up with.

Another one was what good is hell.  Response "Hell is evil, purgatory and heaven are both good".

This is a link used to attempt to reason the "reality" of hell.  http://books.google.com/books?id=gK5LoeW8J2YC&pg=PA327&dq=catholic+apologetics+annihilation+cs+lewis&cd=1#v=onepage&q&f=false
See pg 299 and see how ridiculus this is.
