Title: Thirteen = 12+1
Post by: WhiteWings on November 10, 2013, 07:19:17 AM
To be honest I don't even know the exact question I want to ask. There is something with this number.

- There were 13 tribes. 12 tribes with land and one without land, the Levites who got the honor of the Temple duty

- There were 12 apostles + Jesus

- There are 12 foundation-stone-Apostles + 1 foundation-stone-Jesus. Eph 2:20, Psalm 118:22
It must be said there were 12 apostles + prophets which obviously is more than 12 in total.

QuoteIn general, there are 48 prophets whose prophesies have been recorded in the Bible. These prophets include Moses, Abraham, Joshua, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, Jeremiah, Hosea among many others. Excluding oral prophets, there are 17 Major Prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel.
Maybe the 48 are a 4 groups of 12?????

btw Psalm 118:22 calls the Levites 'builders'

That's it. I'm mainly wondering about the hidden 13th...

WW, the rabbit hole you're looking down goes very, very deep.  If you pursue it, your eyes are going to glaze over and your head is going to spin.  The best you can do is to keep the kaleidoscope from spinning too fast...

As to the Levites being builders, we see in the Book of Jasher, that when the Egyptians plotted to reduce the Israelites to slavery by the lure of wages for labor on public works, the Levites stayed clear of the trap, and remained free men.

Nope, not mocking you - I've been a ways down the rabbit hole myself.  Years ago, at an urging I still don't entirely understand, I charted the days and weeks surrounding some important events in my life.  The interconnected time patterns I found convinced me that a Higher Power had been in control of those events to teach me a lesson, and bring me forward in my walk with God.  During those weeks, God spoke directly to me twice, and my life has not been the same since.  I still have the data in a file, and still marvel at it - the file is titled "My Days Are Numbered".  The steps of Laz are surely established by the Lord.

That's not 13 so you are not allowed to post such things!
Just kidding :friendstu:

But those 14 sons didn't form 14 tribes.

But 1 split up in 2.
