Not wanting to make this a long drawn out post .
So here goes something that has been weighting upon my own soul these days about the truth being a sharp two edged sword .
Hoping others can sure relate .
One thing for sure trying to be open and honest and hoping to understand when you can be honest not only with yourself but others as well with out taking great offence .
Blessed is the one who is not offended in the WORD OF GOD /Jesus Christ .. and the Holy Spirit is what comes into us each and everyone of us to convict the world of sin , our world , our own little world we live in as right and true .
Everyone has their own idea of what the truth is and we are all bound to this idea , till the TRUTH truely does set us free
Remembering the first time I really was convicted of having the wrong spirit working in me , I was young and felt shame and there was no covering of Jesus blood yet for this overwhelming sense of wrong doing .
It was the Holy Spirit teaching me a truth and a right from a wrong .
Being honest this work of the Holy Spirit is teaching us to be good and choose the good waking us up to what the truth really is and being honest with yourself
What good is it to take GODS law and apply it to everyone but yourself first ?
It is a mirror and light to your path .
Anyone telling you the truth is LOVE is the right thing to do , The Holy Spirit working in everyone should always do this very thing and can be hard to not take offense
I have seen parents whom are still so spiritually immature that their own children have become more spiritually mature than they are ! They are older in age carnally , but lack spiritual growth and are stunted and easily offended because they let their own pride of life get in the way .
Because they refuse to let the Holy Spirit do its perfect work in them and refusing the truth to grow in them the WORD IS THE TRUTH WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT changing their minds and hearts from being hard as a rock to a healed state of being .
All this hating of the truth ought to not be still holding them prisoner .
John 16 The Promise of the Holy Spirit
(Joel 2:28-32; John 14:15-26; Acts 2:1-13; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-7)
5Now, however, I am going to Him who sent Me; yet none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?'
6Instead, your hearts are filled with sorrow because I have told you these things.
7But I tell you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away.
Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.
8And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:
9in regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me;
11and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world already stands condemned.
12I still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear to hear it.
13However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.
14He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you.
15Everything that belongs to the Father is Mine.
That is why I said that the Spirit will take from what is Mine and disclose it to you.
16In a little while you will see Me no longer, and then after a little while you will see Me."
Did we hear that WORD by the Holy Spirit telling us a powerful truth ?
Those good gifts of the Holy Spirit will come into us and GIVE us HIS WORD , a promise of the LORD TO SEE HIM as he is .
The pure in heart shall see God !
But the painful truth is this everything that offends will have to be removed first by the Holy Spirit and fire and a great cleansing with great threshing to remove the sinful nature out of its place in our hearts first .
So Jesus Christ can reign in it and cover by His own blood and protect what is rightfully His .
We are not our own .
Learning NOT to be offended by the truth is when LOVE can really take its rightful place within our hearts and keep on working and stay to the end .
Look how long GOD puts up with us , it really puts things into a new perspective when you consider the Lord and honor Him wholeheartedly .
The scripture of John 12 really means a powerful truth when you read it in as seed of truth [Word of God ] CHRIST
dies it bears the HOLY SPIRIT FRUIT OF GOD .
...24Truly, truly, I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a seed;
but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
25Whoever loves his life will lose it,
but whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
26If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, My servant will be as well.
If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him....
Those whom love their lives will loose it anyways and those whom give up everything in this world will find true Life in Christ living in them never dies ...
Thanks for considering this ,
Honestly I do not know why I made a post , I never do this very often , but needed to for confirmation.
What do you think of when you consider the cross of Jesus Christ ?
" What good is it to take GODS law and apply it to everyone but yourself first ?
It is a mirror and light to your path ."
I loved this part!
The truth is hard for me, I pray a lot for answers and guidance because I know I can't trust my own judgment sometimes to know what is the right choice. Sometimes what we think is right and true is just the opposite which is why the Holy Spirit was sent to us. But it is so hard to "hear" the Spirit sometimes!
I do know that since I've become closer to God, I am convicted to tell the truth and do so nearly always now, much more than I used to--I feel my conscience tug each time I even consider being dishonest.

What do you think of when you consider the cross of Jesus Christ ?
Before the world began, Christ knew me and you and the outcome this would bring.
Every mistake I have made, will make, and am not aware I have made was nailed to that cross before I was born.
The literality of the suffering by Christ for me, and you, shows how serious the matter of error/sin should be treated.
The literality of the magnitude of our position "In Christ" also highlights the preparation need for us before we become fully spiritual beings and resurrected to that glorious role In Christ, before our Father, as joint heirs with our wondrous creator.
The significance of the need for sacrifice was displayed throughout the O.T- the law was then played into the equation to demonstrate just obedience would not cover all bases; so the basics of love is paramount to initiate good positive behaviour .
I have seen people, been one myself, who obey the law, but there is no love in their heart- but the law was needed for the correction of such defiling behaviour which happens when the lust of the flesh does the crazy, outlandish things deemed as useful for the self.
I.M.O the ultimate understanding about grasping that love is what growing and learning in the spirit is all about.
1 John 3;14 " We KNOW that we have passed over from death to life because we love the brethren.
Whoever does not love remains in the realm of death."
1 John 4;18,19 " There is NO fear in love, but PERFECT love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment.
So the one who fears has not been perfected in love.
We love because He FIST LOVED US."
Eph 3;17-19 " That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith,
rooted and grounded in love,
in order that YOU MAY BE EMPOWERED TO GRASP with all the saints
what is the breadth, and length and height and depth,
and to know the love of Christ which SUPASSES KNOWLEDGE,
that YOU may be FILLED TO ALL THE FULNESS OF GOD."
Now that information linked with the concept that all will come to know in THEIR ALLOTTED TIME, for me, releases all fear of rejection, and explains the concept said by Paul about thinking of the things to come which exceed the present state of being.
That truth literally has set me/you free. Others WILL get there as well.
I think of Christ's crucifiction as the central event of the world. The tearing of the curtain in the temple signifying God and man, reconciled. A New Covenant..... The Law is fulfilled.....Love is now the Law....so much more than law, itself, can ever be. God came to man, in Christ. We saw the Father, we saw the Son, and the Holy Spirit could now be sent to us. He came to set the captives free....we are saved from our sins, we are rescued from our own weaknesses as humans and now we are able, through faith, to have the mind of Christ.....His strength and His grace given to us. We are not alone....now we can be certain of this. He goes to prepare a place for us, in Heaven. We have a God who was willing to send His only son to die a tortourous death...and to come to earth and live among us...to show us how very much we are loved. Nothing can or will separate us from that Love. Not even death. We are not our own....we have been bought with a price......We can choose how to live our life....as part of the vine or as part of the materialistic world. Though we are all part of both, we must struggle to do as Rose said....die to self and allow Christ rule over our life. Let go of our ways and allow Christ to live through us. All will come to believe in Him, for in Him there is no darkness.....only Light. His will will be done.
What a beautiful story........only God would have thought to do things this way. :cloud9:

Blessings God is love ,
Same here !
and am so thankful to God when I am corrected by the Holy Spirit , the discipline part is very difficult in many ways to endure .
But knowing the Lord is still with us and dealing with us , makes up for the painful experiences and lessons learned
though correction .
Knowing you are loved by the Lord is the best part and can love Him back also .
Best thing that ever happens to anyone I believe to have a conscience bearing witness within us to the Truth and loving the truth :HeartThrob:

Thanks sis , Very loving and precious thoughts , well spoken !! :HeartThrob:
I love the thought of the Lord being called the true vine that wraps itself around you and you it !
This precious life is surrounding us , drawing close to the Lord and the Lord to us !!
As this new life within us it is growing in truth and grace is the Lords .
Made me think of James 4 Drawing Near to God
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn, and weep.
Turn your laughter to mourning, and your joy to gloom....
Only God can give us something better than we ever imagined this life could be :cloud9:
Amen!!! Sisters and Brother! To all of the above.. His cross a Great symbol of Love.. and of victory. We are made in his image, though imperfect for now.. but part of that image is conscience.. would we even be able to forgive our own self.. if not for the great price that was paid, proving we are pardoned. And amen! Given strength and grace to change! Oh happy day!
Brother Ross, sin is a very grave thing.. Pun intended.. as the wages of sin is death. I believe that to be annihilation. Which annihilation is a horrible thought.. That one, even one perish and cease to be is a horror beyond anything..
But the cross! Victory.. worldwide, universal..
Paradoxically(?) alongside the gravity and seriousness of sin, is mercy. I strongly believe in 'cutting people some slack'... everyday folks, saved or not yet saved.. And so, I also have come to believe in not being too hard on myself either.
Amen, the submitting.. the drawing near — the New and Living Way! "The power and Spirit at work in us, is the same Spirit which rose Jesus from the grave" (Ephesians? :dontknow: ) Same Spirit which parted the Red Sea! The cross.. dying to self.. laying self down.. no longer what self wants being important.. the cross, "Victory in Jesus, my savior forever!" Complete victory.. in the world and within us. "But not as though we have already apprehended" (been perfected, far from it! Indeed the more we grow.. and the closer to Him, the more glaring our faults and flaws! "Who will save me from this body of death!?" (And imperfection).
We learn that wanting things to be just so for self just brings discontent anyway, and it is He that is our joy, happiness and contentment.
Sin is indeed deadly serious: man has made many grave mistakes!
All flesh will be wiped out/annihilated!
The flesh is opposite the spirit.
Glad Christ knows that and has started the ball rolling for the glorious forthcoming chapter in the book of life!
The truth sets us free from the decay and bondage of this present age- transferred to the kingdom of light!
Unspeakable joy exudes from the heart!

What do you think of when you consider the cross of Jesus Christ ?
I know it has been awhile since anyone posted on this thread, but I'm a little slow at catching up on all the threads.
I think of everything, it is an ever expanding garden of truth, but I know specifics are in order.
For me it is the separation of our spirit
"from" our flesh, whereas our spirit was bound to the flesh (and it's ways) and could not freely lay it down for the sake of another ...... but now, because of the work of Christ, both on the cross and within us (which is the same truth) we can freely lay down what we could not before:
Namely:
"I can now lay down any judgment of a sinner and forgive them" In other words I now have the freedom to lay down "any judgment in the flesh through the law" in order to
"forgive by the Spirit through Love" which is the essence of Grace
It is this Truth that has now become my life;
"His Life in me"Blessings sister rose for that question

This is awesome , Thank you for sharing Jugg ,
Considering that I too was an enemy of the cross at one time .
Not knowing any better , we have mercy on those that was or still are ... but our hope in Christ keeps us live . a Lively hope to a everlasting glory of God .
As we learn and are waiting on the Lord to finish what He started long ago , but be patient , as He has been so very patient with us all . but just keep looking forward to the end to see the salvation of all , that is a whole lot to look forward too ..
It is all to easy to ''get stuck '' in the here and now and present condition and dealing with earthly things . I sure can tell the difference now from experiencing both ways of thinking over the course of time and circumstances as our faith is put to the test .
I think staying in a prayer like state to the Lord at all times is the only way to overcome the present condition and was not easy at first , but has become so much easier as we learn to trust in Him fully as the truth and only way and Life there is worth living and just keep asking the Holy Spirit for help and answers by looking into the Word of God .
To love so unconditionally as the Lord God does . He makes His enemies friends and family ..
Phill 3
12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been perfected,
but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have laid hold of it.
But one thing I do:
Forgetting what is behind and
straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God's heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.
15All of us who are mature should embrace this point of view.
And if you think differently about some issue, God will reveal this to you as well.
16Nevertheless, we must live up to what we have already attained.
17Join one another in following my example, brothers, and carefully observe those who live according to the pattern we set for you.
18For as I have often told you before, and now declare even with tears:
Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame.
Their minds are set on earthly things. :sigh:
20But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there,
the Lord Jesus Christ,
21
who, by the power that enables Him to subject all things to Himself,
will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.

key about all the flesh and spirit, for me,

Matt 12 A House Divided
...29How can anyone enter a strong man's house and steal his possessions, unless he first ties up the strong man?
Then he can plunder his house.
30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
31Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven....
Proverbs 11:24
There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want.
Matthew 12:29
How can anyone enter a strong man's house and steal his possessions, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.
Mark 9:40
For whoever is not against us is for us.
Luke 9:50
"Do not stop him," Jesus replied, "for whoever is not against you is for you."
Luke 11:23

Honestly I do not know why I made a post , I never do this very often , but needed to for confirmation.
What do you think of when you consider the cross of Jesus Christ ?
I watched the movie "Passion of the Christ" at a movie theatre with my father. And what most impressed me most - it was hard to watch, yes i cried like a baby - but what impressed me most was the verse "by His stripes we are healed". Anyone who's seen the movie would know what I mean.
And, the cross of Jesus, to me, means victory, 100% victorious gospel and atonement - at-one-ment plan. I don't like to call it a "salvation plan" lately.. Since He engineered this whole unavoidable lesson we're living. And rescue or salvation implies an unforseen happening. We all are, of course, rescued from death, where we all would surely and w/o a doubt end up if not for His intervention and "salvation". ["The soul that sinneth it shall die."] But really.. we were never 'lost' in the first place.. Not lost from God! We may have been lost, but He knew where we were! He knows all, calls all, but "each in their own time". ("I never knew you", I think, is a whole other thing.. And temporary :gsmile: )
So most of all.. His cross, and all He did and went through, accomplished, and will accomplish - Perfection, 100% victory. Of course! As we know.. nothing else is possible. The Living Word - Logos - Logic..
:Peace2:

Hi Sis Marie !
The movie is really good too , and surprisingly so ....
Thought of the scripture All things work together for the good of those whom Love the Lord and are called according to His purpose
Romans 8 God Works In All Things
27And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit,
because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
28And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.
29For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son,
so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers....
Seems when Joseph was treated so badly by his own brothers ,
God made it work out for the good of them all in the end !!!! :HeartThrob:
Amen! :girlheart:
