A picture was brought to mind the other day, that Christianity has become the lion that is roaring in the darkness (roaring in their own understanding) but God is turning on the light of Christ and when we are able to see, what we see is a little kitten that has brought his head up from a bowl of milk to roar and all we hear from them is a little "meow".
But our attitude is not to make fun of them in this understanding, we are to take them into our own hearts and love them waiting for them to mature in the light of the Lord, for their time of maturity will come (in due time), just as we too are also maturing in the light.
Their stumbling block is the complete understanding of grace, grace for all, they remain in just understanding the law, they have not yet moved into maturity, that of completely understanding what righteousness is (who Christ has become in us), that being, the grace (Son) of a loving Father (God).

Yes, the not-yet-ready-for-strong-meat milk.
Our corrupted, watered-down Churchianity keeps us at the kitten stage.
