This has likely be hashed and rehashed, but I would love to hear what you all thought of The Bible mini series.
I have mixed feelings myslf. I very much respect Roma Downey, but I could not find the Love Story that she said it contained.
I think I am still very caught up in the violence of the OT, whether it was literal or parabolic. I am not sure if any lost soul would have found anything to bring them home.
I fully realize that I went into it with high expectations but to me it didn't deliver. Just my opinion and I am not at all saying I am right.

Did not watch it and never intended to. :dsunny:

I watched the whole thing, and I was disappointed that it really didn't stick to scripture accurately which is not surprising since there was an obvious Roman Catholic influence. I'm not trying to offend our Catholic brothers and sisters. I was raised Catholic, but I left the church when I was a very young man. I prefer an accurate translation of scripture to church doctrine. I agree with you, Julie, that there could have been less sensationalized violence from Hebrew scripture and more about the love of God manifested in Christ.
