Title: seed hidden
Post by: redhotmagma on August 08, 2011, 07:08:33 PM
Is Christ hidden in all people now and some aren't awake yet?  If so was it since the beginning, or did it come after He came 2000 years ago?

26Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

28Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

29Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

--Col 1

Just asking to clarify, "some aren't awake yet?" Is this not true? For not every man is aware(awake) to the knowledge of the warning and the wisdom of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 4:28
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Micah, I meant those walking dead who haven't been called out of darkness yet.

2 I am sure you have heard that God appointed me to share his grace with you. 3 I'm talking about the mystery God showed me. I have already written a little about it.

4 By reading it you will be able to understand what I know about the mystery of Christ.

5 The mystery was not made known to people of other times. But now the Holy Spirit has made it known to God's holy apostles and prophets.

6 Here is the mystery. Because of the good news, God's promises are for non-Jews as well as for Jews. Both groups are parts of one body. They share in the promise. It belongs to them because they belong to Christ Jesus.

7 I now serve the good news because God gave me his grace. His power is at work in me. 8 I am by far the least important of all of God's people. But he gave me the grace to preach to the non-Jews about the wonderful riches that Christ gives.

9 God told me to make clear to everyone how the mystery came about. In times past it was kept hidden in the mind of God, who created all things. 10 He wanted the rulers and authorities in the heavenly world to come to know his great wisdom. The church would make it known to them.

11 That was God's plan from the beginning. He has worked it out through Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 Through him and through faith in him we can approach God. We can come to him freely. We can come without fear.

13 So here is what I'm asking you to do. Don't lose hope because I am suffering for you. It will lead to the time when God will give you his glory.

--Eph 3

1 I want you to know how hard I am working for you. I'm concerned for those who are in Laodicea. I'm also concerned for everyone who has not met me in person.

2 I want their hearts to be made cheerful and strong. I want them to be joined together in love. Then their understanding will be rich and complete. They will know the mystery of God. That mystery is Christ.

3 All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in him.

4 But I don't want anyone to fool you with fast talk that only sounds good. 5 So even though I am away from you in body, I am with you in spirit. I am glad to see that you are doing everything in good order. And I am happy that your faith in Christ is so strong.

Freedom From Human Rules
6 You received Christ Jesus as Lord. So keep on living in him. 7 Have your roots in him. Build yourselves up in him. Grow strong in what you believe, just as you were taught. Be more thankful than ever before.

8 Make sure no one captures you. They will try to capture you by using false reasoning that has no meaning. Their ideas depend on human teachings. They also depend on the basic things the people of this world believe. They don't depend on Christ.

9 God's whole nature is living in Christ in human form. 10 Because you belong to Christ, you have everything you need. He is the ruler over every power and authority.

Was Jesus the same as us, just unveiled?  He had full access to the Father, or the fullness that we await, all the fullness of deity bodily.  When we become like He is I assume its talking about glorified Christ.  What I'm wondering is if the fullness took place while in the flesh, how does that relate to us, and then also to the glorified body?

Sorry thats confusing, I don't know how to word it better.

At His baptism the HS decended on Him. At Pentecost the Apostles recieved the HS. Saul got an experience.
I'm wondering if the HS stays present in the person or just rips away (a certain amount of) veils and leaves again. Is the drawing of God removing veils?

QuoteHe had full access to the Father
Not before resurrection I think.

I think the fulllness was after being resurrected because for me "there schall be no tear, fear, sickness, etc" is part of that fullness....

Two things you left out, ww.

1)Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

2) The disciples received the indwelling  Holy Spirit from Jesus himself breathing on them before Pentecost.

So two things are of interest here--the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit worn as a mantel [outside].

This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

1a] But that wasn't enough. Otherwise the HS had no need to decent on Him after baptism. --> I have to admit I'm not really sure that HS entered Him. Standing next to Him would be more logical to me...
1b] I think Jesus knew more after resurrection. Just a feeling.
2] So? Firstly it means the breathing on them wasn't enough. Secondly even after Pentecost they lacked knowledge I think.

So it seems to me that knowledge (often) increases gradually/in steps.

It seems that we should become like Him glorified, and not in human body.

Passover type : leaving egypt
      fullfillment:  Christs death on cross

Pentecost type : Law at sinai
      fullfillment:  HS on disciples

Tabernacles type:  fullness of deity in a man
fullfillment:  fullness of deity in the new man?

letters are symbols, He is the alpha and omega, the first and last symbol,  the symbol is not the essence but points to it, now we know no man after the flesh, Christ was revealed IN Paul which seems to be our example for this age, the revelation of mystery

the above "reasoning" makes me think that there will be no more literal fullfillment of revelation for instance (actual seven years, a single man antichrist that literally rules the world)

These things were given for our example, those things are the symbols and types.  They literally happened (I think, otherwise the fullfilments seem to be built on nothing but a story, kind of like our US currency, so literal happenings are the gold standard).  I've just wondered where does the literal stop if at all?
