QuoteWelcome to the group Rudder. Let us know if we can steer you in the right direction.
:laughing7:

A boat without a rudder is a Shipwrecked faith, or even an unbridled one, like a lot in Genesis , much is Hidden,  thinking more in conjunction  with the rudder being small and unseen, a Little member which defiles  the WHOLE BODY.

Luke 6:24  Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and COOL MY TONGUE; for I am tormented in THIS FLAME.

anyways, Just seeking if others who may see any connections :icon_flower:

Wow! So glad I found your post G, I thought now this is a good one, I cant agree more it sure does appear theres more in this and I too see it as the smallest part of a ship (that steers its course) even as James speaks of that small little member (our tongue) steering the whole course.

Heres what I got on this (by way of comparisons I see somehow applying) great starter post (buried back here)

Ships and Leviathan

Psalm 104:36 There go the ships: (((there))) is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play ~therein~.

Ships and small helm (tongue)

James 3:4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they ~turned about~ with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

No man can tame the tongue, it shows its "drawn out" Leviathan (his tongue) IS LET

Job 41:4 Canst thou ~draw out~ leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which THOU LETTEST down?

The mystery of Iniquity also IS LET

2Thes 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only HE who now LETTETH will LET, until he be taken out of the way.

The TONGUE is A WORLD of INIQUITY

James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity

Two in scripture hold the power of death, ironically its ~the tongue~ and ~the devil~

Shown here...

Heb 2:14... that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, ~the devil~;

And Shown here...

Prov 18:21 Death and life are in the power of ~the tongue~

Question to the false tongue

Psalm 120:3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

That through death that he might DESTROY the one holding the power of death, which is the devil (as well as the tongue) which again speaks the same

Isaiah 11:15 And the LORD shall utterly ***destroy the tongue*** of the Egyptian sea

Keeping in mind the first part of this post (as it relates to) the ships, leviathan and the tongue (the helm) look whats destroyed

Rev 8:9 and the third part of the ships ***were destroyed***.

I always wondered about the "third part" of the ships. It never says how many ships there are or if they were destroyed in whole, it just speaks to a "the third part" of them among others things (and its the third part of them that is struck).

Now this is prior to other details left out, like a great mountain burning with fire is cast into the Sea. Mt Sinai the Lord descended upon in fire etc...The helm of the ship is shown as the tongue. So also is Leviathan shown as made to play ~therein~ (along with the ships). Theres the mystery of iniquity and the tongue is shown as a ~world of~ iniquity which are "let" but so also is leviathan. Both are drawn out of which no man can (neither) tame.

Ever notice weird things like that G?

Glad I found your post back here, I was digging back some and thought, "This is not too old to bring forward"

:icon_flower:

So it seems this little helm is able to speak from the Grave itself, fit for destruction, for the cause of it is the Wisdom Beneath, speaking LIES\Guile\deceit against the TRUTH

Jam 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Jam 3:6 And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Jam 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

Jam 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish

For the Wisdom ABOVE is
1Cr 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
and did HE not Come to Destroy such WORDLY Wisdom

1Cr 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.  1Cr 1:20 Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world

1Cr 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

In Relation,Didnt James also say this,TO BRIDLE, thats cool

James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Prov 21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

The keeping or Bridling of the TONGUE, Bridles the WHOLE BODY, THE SAME IS A PERFECT man,..thats awesome

James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man,[/u] and able also to bridle the whole body.

Seems Paul understood this fact to sis

1Cr 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:[/u] lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Back to that PERFECT MAN

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ

For mine the scripts are saying  a PERFECT MAN  IS able to Bridle his tongue, speaking NOT the wisdom of this WORLD, but SPEAKING TRUTH, Therefore without FAULT.

Rev 14:5  And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Seems there was FAULT with the FIRST COVENANAT sis, Lest there be No need of a Second

Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

BUT again we see some FINDING fault .and wishing to go to """"law""""WITH ONE ANOTHER

1Cr 6:7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

Best stop here Fire...tis getting long

other than, me neither with that Third Part of the ships...I seemed to have lost em( ships that is) during this post , wierd how ya led :icon_flower:

:cloud9: Notice that in the parable of the wheat and the tares, He says the angels gather out of His kingdom, those things which offend and do INIQUITY. I know the tongue is part of where the worm dieth not, from a night vision He gave me. Specifically it has white and black worms in it, which was given me to understand that it is from speaking both good and evil. Sorry guys, I know it's a gross picture, but I always get the "reverse engineering" details, what can I say, LOL.........So once the tongue is controlled it becomes the tongue of the learned, like an arrow that always hits the mark. Blessings....

:cloud9: Yes, it is a huge study Fire. The last scripture you added reminded me of this. I was praying for a woman who was known to have a sharp tongue, always getting herself in trouble with it. I saw blood coming out of her mouth in the Spirit, making like a walkway suspended in the air in front of her. Then I saw why. These demonic little imps, unclean spirits were walking in the blood and into her via her mouth. Just then He spoke the scripture about it not being what goes in, but what comes out, and I sure got to see the fruit of that scripture in a whole new way..... :sigh:  Blessings....

You know Rose, these appear to connect somehow to the situation of the man....

Duet 28:6 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life: (the gospel comes with MUCH assurance, ironic thats there)

Which is sorta reflected here...

Mark 5:5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and ~cutting himself~ with stones.

The gospel comes with MUCH assurance (and Jesus comes to this man) He certainly reflects a man with none assurance for his life. It says, "God has given us a SOUND MIND" (as G pointed out) and when Jesus comes to him he is now clothed and in his right mind, the torturing Jesus in this instance (that he thought to anticipate) was none other then a freind to him.

Theres alot of treasures in this story

Been offline, playing catch up now.......it is related because Deut. 28 is where all the generational curses were pronounced. Jesus came to reverse all the curses. All the NT has snipets of Deut. 28, in one way or another, for that reason. Blessings....

hey Bro G , it also means Gergesenes ,  now  that is something !!!
  how can this be !?

Gergesenes = "a stranger drawing near" ?

1) also called Gadarenes, is assumed to have been located on the eastern shore of Lake Gennesaret

Gennesaret
(From Easton's Bible Dictionary)

a garden of riches.
A town of Naphtali, called Chinnereth (Joshua 19:35), sometimes in the plural form Chinneroth (11:2). In later times the name was gradually changed to Genezar and Gennesaret (Luke 5:1). This city stood on the western shore of the lake to which it gave its name. No trace of it remains. The plain of Gennesaret has been called, from its fertility and beauty, "the Paradise of Galilee." It is now called el-Ghuweir.

The Lake of Gennesaret, the Grecized form of CHINNERETH (q.v.). (See GALILEE, SEA OF .)
Mat 8:28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. Gennesaret
(From Hitchcock's Bible Names)

garden of the prince

there was a'' place of harps'' but I fogot what name that is ??? :dontknow:
