Did anyone see the rethinking hell triangle?
Basically there are three sides to a triangle. The top of the triangle is universalism.Those who never accepted Christ in this life will undergo purification in the lake of fire temporarily until their sins are destroyed.The bottom left hand corner of the triangle is traditionalism.The unsaved will be tormented eternally in hell.Finally the bottom right hand triangle is conditional immortality.The unsaved will be destroyed completely in hell.The line opposite conditional immortality is called universal immortality.The line opposite universalism is called eternal punishment/final judgement.The line opposite traditionism is called evil eradicated/suffering ends.
I would like to know your thoughts on this.
My only thought is - "Those who never accepted Christ in this life will undergo purification in the lake of fire temporarily until their sins are destroyed." - in my belief should read - "Those who never accept Christ by time the end of a veRy, long, judgment, 'day' (age) will undergo purification in the lake of fire temporarily until their sins are destroyed." ...the rest of it is greek to me :)

So the triangle outlines the three belief systems that Christians have had over the past couple thousand years---eternal punishment/damnation, annihilation, and universal salvation? What is the purpose of the triangle? To show the three viewpoints?
I went from being taught hell as a child and being very afraid of hell when I allowed myself to think of it, to not believing in anything, to half heatedly believing in hell just because it was part of being "Christian" but not really allowing myself to think too much about it, to being consumed by fear that there really was a hell and most of us were headed there, to believing in annihilation, to believing in universal salvation.
Soon....I guess I covered the triangle and then some with the evolution of my belief system, huh? :laughing7:
My thoughts on this are that there are only three possibilities when it comes to salvation (a triangle)
NONE, SOME and ALL
1. "NONE" that none will be saved (atheism falls under this heading)
2. "SOME" that some will be saved and some won't (both condemnation in hell and annihilation fall under this heading)
3. "ALL" that all will be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (and I agree with marie in that the Lake of Fire is the purifying process that will cleanse all)
