Hi there all,
Hope you are all keeping well!

I had to put my beloved dog Sam to sleep yesterday. Very traumatic. Husband and i are missing him terribly.
I just pray that we all see each other again on the other side!

Hi Nancy I know how you feel sis, we had to put our dog axel down after 17 years, awhile ago also and the wife and I still miss him.

As to seeing him on the other side sis, just remember that it was not only man in the ARK that came out safe on the other side of judgment.

I have lost two dogs and just got another one a couple weeks ago.

Dogs so well represent the true nature of God that I find it hard to believe that they will be excluded from His fellowship in the sweet bye and bye.

They always forgive and forget a wrong done.
They always love.
They are compassionate.
They are always there when you need them.

Oh no! It's terrible to lose a pet. I believe that at least some part of an animal's essence goes back to God. God bless you.

You don't know me and I am new to the boards. Just wanted to say sorry for your loss hun. I have 5 babies. Two kitties and three doggies. One of my cats has been with me forever. Since we don't have children these are literally my babies. Been obessing alot lately about the whole life death thing so I have been doing lots of research online and it seems lots of people seem to think animals go to heaven 2. There are even cases of people having NDE's where they see their furry babies in Heaven. I personally believe since all animals are free from sin they all join God when they pass on. If it helps I can look for some of those pages for you. Just gimme a holler.

  his name was Moses  :HeartThrob: and one of the best friends I ever had God knew I needed him at the time and was sent  to help  me  ,  he died of heart worm ,  and that was the hardest thing to deal  with  for me   for a long time  [years]  i still miss him , we have others  to  love , but its not the same it is different  for each one they have their own  way and  personality ,  we treat them now  with monthly meds  to prevent that aweful disease  ,  if only I had known
   he was a messenger / angel to me sis  sent from above   to show me what unconditional love  really is  :HeartThrob:

Don't worry  Sam/Moses is now happily running after a ball or stick.

It reminds me of something I saw/thought a few weeks back.
I saw a lady walking her dog. I don't know how those things are called but she had a thing to swing a tennis ball.
You can easily throw a ball 50 meters with it.
The dog was hyper concentrated at that lady/ball. Tail swinging and running like there was nothing else.
The whole world was completely wiped out for that dog. There was only that lady and that extremely interesting tennis ball. Complete 100% unforced genuine happiness.
I think that dog showed me a picture of Heaven....

Pets are part of the family...we so miss them when they are no longer around

Sorry about your loss Nancy, we have two  at moment,  a G sheperd \Collie cross and Blue Staffy,..weve had collies and springers in the past, you dont forget them.

There are even Hovawart dog clubs so I think they are not that rare?

The black one looks just like our Kane.

And if you read up on them they almost became extinct in WW1 or 2 (not sure which) .

Just because someone has a dog club does not mean there are alot of dogs bro, I could start a dog club for Hovawarts in my town and only get 1 other dog and it would still be a club would it not.

It's just that on Dutch Hovawart clubwebsite they mention they have a yearly competition in which more that 100 Hovawart dogs attend.
I have no clue if that's much for a (Dutch) dogshow.

  Moses was  very Husky looking with  beautiful golden eyes that had such expression and life in them ,they almost looked human or angelic even , He was a gem , a one of a kind , and lucky to have in a lifetime .. most unforgetable , very loyal and True  buddy

Axel   sounds like a gem as well Scott . we loved our axel  too , but he was  a beastly dog at times Lol ..  kept the deer out of the garden , did not know how valuable he was  till he passed  and he was devoted to our family  and great protecter

wow ! AXEL is  gorgeous !!! favors my ''MO'' a great deal , but more was more hairy lol very loyal friends  , strong in nature  , no doubt ..

Boy oh boy rose you sure said a mouth full, hes 8 now and still thinks hes 2, runs everywhere, I don't think he knows how to walk :laughing7:, still sits on my lap and goes crazy every time I walk in the door, even if I was only gone for 30 seconds to take the garbage out.

So sorry for your loss.  I can recall when God blessed me with my own child, a goat, who had been abandoned by his mother.  His mother was very young and inexperienced, so I took him in at 3 hours old.  He was born on Mother's Day, so my mom felt quite proud.  We named him Eric and he very quickly decided that it was I whom he wanted to care for him, so I got the job of fixing his bottle, letting him sleep with me in my bed, and basically doing all the parental things that made my family laugh at.  I could share all sorts of anecdotes regarding how I came to care for Eric as though he was an actual human child, but that's something for a different post.

Unfortunately, Eric never gained weight, and he didn't play like a normal pygmy goat.  He was excessively needy, and I couldn't leave him alone for more than thirty seconds before he's cry and begin searching for me.  He died when he was a month old, early in the morning long before the sun was out; his limbs had lost all their strength and he began having seizures.

I know how terrible it is to lose a family member, but one thing I will share with everyone here is Eric's last day of life.  I share it because it has inspired me in my faith (it also thrust me into a crisis of faith at first), and is the reason why I offer to help in church youth programs now.

On his last day, we took him to Pine Haven Christian Bible Camp because the pastor there wanted to use him in the lesson.  I brought him to the camp and Eric immediately took to the situation.  I set him on the grass and right away he trotted over to the nearest prayer circle and stood in the center, hoping to grab the kids' attention, no doubt.  Most of them were quite thrilled, the majority being city kids who had never seen a goat up close before.  They took a bunch of pictures, he was passed from one persont to the next, etc.

Naturally, the lesson was about how goats used to be sacrifices.  All the pastor did was hold him as he talked, and Eric kept looking at all the kids, the pastor, and grinning that big stupid grin he used to have.  It's a shame I didn't bring the camera that day!  I might upload a picture later, though.

Afterwards, he didn't want to leave!  I kicked me and fought me all the way to the car because he wanted to follow the kids around the woods some more.

To make a long story short, after he died I realized that Eric touched more lives in a single day than I had in my entire life.  Isn't it wonderful how God can use even a baby goat to forward his message?
