1Co 13:12 For at present we are observing by means of a mirror, in an enigma, yet then, face to face. At present I know out of an instalment, yet then I shall recognize according as I am recognized also."

Nathan posted a story last week about taking pictures of a tree from different angles.  If the light is behind you you see shadows, if its behind the tree and you are looking towards it you see the rays of light.  If we turn towards the light we don't see the shadows in men was the point (sorry I don't do the story justice)

I've been trying to conceptualize or graph out the absolute backwardness of "the world" compared to God.  As man strives to reach God on his own he only gets further away.  Yet it looks like its the right thing to them.

Here goes:

Life/Spirit/God------->light----------->  O> ---------------------------->|mirror/flesh|--------------> Death

So we have opposites on the two ends.  Light proceeds from God.  the O> is a person facing toward the mirror (light is coming from behind them).  Here the person sees what they perceive to be the source of the light, which is ahead (but in reality its just a reflection) so they move ahead toward death or the flesh thinking that is the reality.  I remember as a kid being amazed by mirrors, imagining there was another world in there.  That mirror world is our "objective" reality if we have our mind set on flesh which leads to death.  But if we would just turn around toward the light, we would have the mind set on spirit which leads to life.

Some of the hebrew words for idol are image, imagination these relate to mind but also weave or booth these relate to flesh/veil.  Also tower or pulpit.  Again as man strives of their own devices to reach for the light we are left with idolatry, or worshipping the image, the thing in the mirror, worshipping the creature and not the creator which is due to the futility in their thinking they be wise-->imaginations (thoth, buddha).

Another graphical representation is like this

God 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 |mirror| 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 dog

reality is on left side (God) if you are trying to go towards #1 and you are looking at the mirror you will keep walking away from God and toward dog  :winkgrin:

2 Cor 3:18 And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another,  which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Instead of being after the fleshly image which is the essence of idolatry, we are being transformed into the spiritual image which is the essence of Righteousness.

Just some of whats been rattling around in ma noggin

 He likens HIS JUDGEMENT AS UNTO A CIRCLE[I like to call it the circle of life]

   we end up right back where we started..as we start away from the point of origen...the light is at our back..when we reach about 180 degrees

  we then are facing the light as we approach back to it. This is why Messiah come in the midst of the week..to turn the hearts of the children,unto the Father

   He showed Moses His back..because at that time in the judgement that is where we[man] was at  NOW,WE AND FATHER ARE NO LONGER BACK TO BACK

   BUT FACE TO FACE

     UNIVERSE.......ONE-TURN
