I was thinking the other day about the song, a staple in gospel music, "I've Got a Mansion." Then I again read John 14. Bro. Eby in his writings pointed out that heaven is not even mentioned in the entire chapter. That was very eye opening to me some 20 or so years ago when I was being led out of the Pentecost denomination.
But more important to me(anyway) in this hour when I read it, that Jesus was speaking to His disciples, not to the multitude [everyone], but to those few who gathered around.
So when Jesus spoke His parable it was to those men who stood or sat around Him. In His Father's house are many abodes, mansions, dwelling places and just as the sermon on the mount was not to the multitude [everyone] but to His disciples, the words were not for the many but the few. Many are called, few are chosen.
It seems to me, imo, that Jesus spoke His words[parables] to a His "students" (chosen/elect)rather than to all believers or the masses, yet out of the masses there would be "hearer's" those chosen... the elect. These have abodes, dwelling places, mansions in the Father's house. Just some thoughts. This is just an observation :2c: :dsunny:
Yes, in those masses were those who had the ability to see what they were looking at, to understand on a deep level what they were hearing. Eyes to see, ears to hear. Jesus preached for those. I post for those. Yes, the non-elect are still saved...

He did not speak to "those" masses is the point. Of course the "non-elect" as as well as All men will be saved.

Hi ya all ,
I thought how odd we have word plays like no other language and English is a very hard language to understand to many meanings for the same words spelled differently etc
surly there is a heavenly language as well to where the Spirit speaks and we are given eyes to see ears to hear and heart to understand what the Spirit is speaking and meaning , this is the healing Jesus was speaking of to me anyways
take the word
mansion man - sion son of man and Sion , Sion is the heavenly abode a MOUNTAIN /CITY mountain of God that
is given to us here and now Hebrews 12 in its entirety !!
that we come to worship in Spirit and truth , its for everyone , not just the chosen
Jesus started out with 12 , being a foundation , Just as the City was built on 12 foundations , by 12 walls
He come to dwell with us , not us with Him , we dont go up , He comes down to us the Tabernacle of God is with men ... Emanuel [God with us ]
Rev 21
10and he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and did shew to me the great city
, the holy Jerusalem, coming down out of the heaven from God, 11having the glory of God, and her light [is] like a stone most precious, as a jasper stone clear as crystal,
12having also a wall great and high, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written thereon, which are [those] of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel,
13at the east three gates, at the north three gates, at the south three gates, at the west three gates;
14and the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
I personally do not believe anyone sees this before the healing of Jesus is given to them , with new eyes and ears and heart that comes from God
to begin in the Spirit and truth to worship Him as He desires .
I know the flesh does not do this and only copies it , church houses are full of confusion
Abraham walked with God , Enoch walked with God Noah walked with God
It was only God and them , that is how personal it is
no crowds but Jesus Himself constantly withdrew into the Desert and there prayed. God was with them

I love that! and the rest of your post too, Rose.. esp. each alone with God.. the city.. at the 'conclusion' there is either in or out of the city, it seems to me.. tho I don't believe there will be any outside.. just that the "outside" is that horrible (unavoidable) lesson which is (was) human history in the carnal and allll that went wRong... a torment for ever and ever.. i.e, (imo) never ever forgotten (let us so hope!!)

I love reflecting upon that verse "in His house... many abiding places" He spoke in parables, ..."it is given unto you to hear.." .."whoever has ears to hear. let him hear"! :smile:

Amen, Sis Marie!!! :HeartThrob: Faith come by hearing and hearing through the word of Christ.what the Spirit of prophecy is saying Jesus testimony
"Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." :thumbsup:
I would you all prophesy 1 Corinth 14 Young's Literal Translation
Prophecy and Tongues
1
Pursue the love, and
seek earnestly the spiritual things,
and rather that ye may prophecy,
2for he who is speaking in an [unknown] tongue — to men he doth not speak, but to God, for no one doth hearken, and in spirit he doth speak secrets;
3and he who is prophesying to men doth speak edification, and exhortation, and comfort;
4he who is speaking in an [unknown] tongue, himself doth edify, and he who is prophesying, an assembly doth edify;
5and I wish you all to speak with tongues, and more that ye may prophecy, for greater is he who is prophesying than he who is speaking with tongues, except one may interpret, that the assembly may receive edification.
6And now, brethren, if I may come unto you speaking tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophesying, or in teaching?
7yet the things without life giving sound — whether pipe or harp — if a difference in the sounds they may not give, how shall be known that which is piped or that which is harped?
8for if also an uncertain sound a trumpet may give, who shall prepare himself for battle?
9so also ye, if through the tongue, speech easily understood ye may not give — how shall that which is spoken be known? for ye shall be speaking to air.
10There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is unmeaning,
11if, then, I do not know the power of the voice, I shall be to him who is speaking a foreigner, and he who is speaking, is to me a foreigner;
12
so also ye, since ye are earnestly desirous of spiritual gifts, for the building up of the assembly seek that ye may abound;
the assembly is the building up of the Body of Christ in the earth , This Mountain prophesied in Daniel 2 of the coming of Jesus Christ the Chief/ First and Main '' corner Stone'' that would crush the false Image a lying power in the earth
...33its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. 34
"You continued looking until a stone was cut out without hands, and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and crushed them.
35"Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were crushed all at the same time and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away so that not a trace of them was found.
But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth Sion is that Holy Mountain Hebrews 12
I always wondered why Jesus said if you have the faith of a mustard seed you could you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you."!!!
If you move the fake image of this kingdom /mountain by faith in Jesus Christ , nothing can stop you from being in Christ , nothing but the false imaginations of men , that image was gold and silver and iron and clay all to become dust in the Lords threshing floor
1Peter 1 faith tested is more precious than gold
3Blessed [is] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to the abundance of His kindness did beget us again to a living hope, through the
rising again of Jesus Christ out of the dead, 4
to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and unfading, reserved in the heavens for you, 5who, in the power of God are being guarded, through faith, unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time, 6in which ye are glad, a little now, if it be necessary, being made to sorrow in manifold trials, 7
that the proof of your faith — much more precious than of gold that is perishing, and through fire being approved —
may be found to praise, and honour, and glory, in the revelation of Jesus Christ,
8
whom, not having seen, ye love, in whom, now not seeing and believing, ye are glad with joy unspeakable and glorified,
9receiving the end of your faith — salvation of souls wow the end of your faith after the fires tested it is salvation to your lives /souls , but it is a process for everyone of us as God the Father chooses it to be so
so many asked Jesus for more faith , I see this as examples for us to ask in the same ways and we read them results as we see results , making faith expected and not impossible
remember the Centurion asking Jesus to heal his servant ? Jesus offered to go to him and the centurion /soldier said no , just give the word and its a done deal , Jesus loved his faith , its a done deal than ! as you believe so it will be done to you ... :HeartThrob:
