Nature.
I have very weak faith. Sometimes I get a feeling1 when I see something in nature2 and I think God really exists.
1] Feeling is something like a push, kick or a extra 'loud' heartbeat. Hard to describe. It's something that lasts half a second.
2] Usually a tree, blue sky and especially bright sun in a blue sky. Also birds. (Sparrows :happy3: Cardinals)
I'm certainly no tree or sun worshipper. But those things give me more or equal proof of Gods existance than the Bible itself.
Someone got similar 'feelings'?
:cloud9: I found out (once I learned to recognize His Spirit/presence) that I had already felt it all along when I was a child. I used to go back into our woods on my horse nearly every day, weather permitting, and just sit there and soak up the peace I felt.
Some people don't believe this, but His Spirit is in the creation. And why wouldn't it be? He formed it thru Christ. What your describing as that "extra heartbeat", I describe as a quickening of His Spirit; a sudden indescribable awareness.
And because He created it, it is a "lesser" glory, lesser only because it has form as the material world. It is His witness; all of creation witnesses some aspect of His nature and principles. Blessings...
It were also philosophical reasons which convinced me, there must be a God
maybe Romans 1:20 fits:
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
Cardinal, yes, same thing here. As a child I also knew him through the beauty of the world he created for us. I was also among the most fortunate (so it appears) to be taught how much we are loved by God. So I could just soak up his love from everything beautiful around me. Every child should be so blessed. For that reason, I've always loved this song.

I almost exclusivey feel God when I'm in nature.
The bible could be torn apart and every page burned to a crisp.
But I would still feel God in His creation.

Our apartment looks out into woods. We see all the leaves fall, and we see them come back again. We see the wonders of storm clouds( which has always had my fascination) and the sun turning the sky pink at sunset. Ah, yes; there is a loving God.

I agree Sparrow, when we were children we saw things and felt the presence of God in things out in nature, one of my Grandmothers favorite quotes to people about children was: all children need their Indian acre to run on, without it they starve for the wounderful things of God.
As we get older the vail tends to obstruct this view and we are it seems blinded, some of us maybe to greater extents than others by the pushes, pulls and the concerns of this world, the do's and do nots to the letter preached by religion, politics, corporate pressure and such that is bulit up by the hands of men, I believe this is all designed by God to draw us closer to him and equip us with a body, the mansion he is preparing for us fit for glory.

May want to be careful how we prioritize some things . . .I believe the Word is given to afirm what the spirit is doing . .but I also believe the Word (Bible) isn't the blame for misunderstandings. I think that should go to the source . .the minds of men who try to take a spiritual truth and apply it with natural logic. In other words . . .reading it as a means of proof, rather than an inspiriation of faith.
It's a tool, an assistance that leads us into Truth, but it's not truth in and of itself. It takes the Spirit to unveil the truth within it. Otherwise, it's just a historical book with moral values.
I don't think it should be any surprise that Jesus went into the wilderness to spend quality time with Father.... :thumbsup:
