Title: I come soon
Post by: WhiteWings on March 03, 2014, 08:43:23 AM
I come soon.... the famous words of Jesus; spoken nearly 2000 years ago.

According to (ancient) Jewish understanding most of you have John, Matthew, Luke, Moses, Job, etc standing behind you. The person who wrote a book was always with the book. They took that very far.
Daniel was a eunuch, meaning he was not complete and therefore not allowed in the Temple. So the Book of Daniel never entered the Temple complex and was stored in a library.

In NT times it was a custom that important men let others write their books. Likely also true for the NT books. If so, I wonder who  really wrote the book of Matthew (real name Levi)
Was Matthew the one who dictated the book, it was all his work wrote it for someone else*?
If the last it could be argued Jesus is linked to one of the NT books too; Revelation which He "dictated" to John. If so, Jesus "came soon" when Revelation was written because He was/is with the book like all other authors.

:Chinscratch:

*=Some scholars think that many/several of the NT books where dictated by apostles who do not have their name attached to the book.

Related to the above is the "must come swiftly" in Revelation.

Does that mean Jesus came soon after John started of finished writing Revelation? Could be. But there is another possible interpretation.

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

Imo the Lord's day is a regular Jewish festival day, but that's not so important right now.
John was present at that day in the spirit. Meaning he wasn't literally there. Which basicly means that day could have been in 100AD but just as well 2014AD.

Rev 1:1 The Unveiling of Jesus Christ, which God gives to Him, to show to His slaves what must occur swiftly....

Imo swiftly is not related to the time John was writing or received the vision. It's soon after the Rev 1:10. Soon after the day of the Lord.

If so both verses combined just say: Jesus will return on that certain holiday and then things start to happen. But no year is mentioned.

  WOW ,
You put this up today  and last night I FOUND  by looking into somthing else
two scriptures that   are saying   the same things  and yet to opposite  natures again
  About Jesus coming .
I dont doubt many scribes  wrote  instructions in the Books , plural   the book of memorial[ dead] and the Book of Life , again the opposites

I will put them up here  for anyones benefit  , as it helped me

but has  little to do with   those writen books and who wrote them , I know whats spoken is whats  as important [oracles of GOD ]   as them being wrote down  properly  , by Holy Spirit  inspiration  , they must  witness  and be cohesive
to what   , I am going to use nature  [carnal or spiritual ]  IS being spoken too in the WORD OF GOD  and How Gods word asks us to discern   the spirits  in  us first  , and ask is there  a carnal spirit of rebellion in mankind that must  taste death at Christs coming  , its a spirit of antichrist  working  in the world as we see how much hinderance  is really done  by the natural eye of understaanding    or maybe its the spiritual eye of understanding that sees both  working   at the same time  , in direct opposites ?

1 Corinthians 3

16 Don't you know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? 17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him because God's temple is holy. You are that holy temple!
the   old man of sin[in Adam all die ]  must be destroyed  by the breath of His coming [In Christ all shall be made alive ]

2 Thess 2
1Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,

2not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

3Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessnessa is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

5Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?

6And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.

7For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work;

but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

some wont see death TILL  , they see Gods kingdom coming in power .... Jesus eleminates the old man of sin  in us first  by the breath of His coming to us

9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,

10and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

lack of faith in Gods working though Jesus Christ , who come to save mens lives not destroy them and yet  we can see this scripture  is  speaking to the old man of sinful nature  bound to satan   that fire  consumes

salvation is   now   not some future  thing    now is the time  to be judged and changed    , yes the world is wicked and full of evil   as old  sleep of adam  is ruling/dominion   with satan  the advarsary  as the old dust man of flesh dies   that too   but its the spirit of antichrist  that is  consumed  by Jesus breath and coming  to cleanse the temple for God to reside  and reign  in ,our hearts   , the strong man  , Paul claims he is weak  now  , but His Christ in Him is strong  , I can see Pauls  damascus  experience  as Christ breath coming with all the Light  and fire  consuming his old spirit man of sin  , making Paul a new creature in Christ made for working  Gods will and desire !!

Rom 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

in Adam,, what that they wont die ??   all do !!

1Cr 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1Cr 15:23   But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.     we just saw How Christ would come in  2 Thess 2   right ?

Stand Firm

13But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits b to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

1Cr 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
.
there  is those firstfruits again  , being picked and harvested for  the LIVING GOD though the work of Christ again  , more labouers for love of Christ in God

14He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

16May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope,

17encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word

But we now   have   the mind of Christ being obedient to Gods will / desire for us   as the lawless one within us sitting on the  seat as God  in His temple !   it belongs to God  , we are Gods  possession now and  a worker  ready for HIM to instruct  the new man creature in Christ  and send His glory to anyone willing to listen , faith comes by hearing so are those born of the Spirit of Christ making all things new  .
Both  being the two edged SWORD /WORD  that kills the old and makes alive the new  man in Christ  resting in hope  as the  7 Spirits of God rest on himand  finnish the work  in righteousness  [Hebews 4 ]

now to the old man remember God gave Adam dominion over the earth   and how Adam has failed the test  , eating  of  the tree
of knowledge  of good and evil and     believed    the serpent saying  eyes are opened  you will be like God to know good and evil   , God said  you will surly Die  the day you eat of it  ,  those  born in  Adam  have been dead to GOD  ever since   , thus the need to be born again from above [Christ is   the way truth and the Life ]    there is no other  way  though robbers and thieves try in vain  till their end comes .

Hi Tony ,  wrote alot , but getting alot more  out of the Word these days

I love how you bring up the  sound of the trumpet !

in the feasts of trumpets   the shofar  is sounded   and a pattern  emerges  over and over again This memorial [dead  to life ]

the trumpet is sounding for those to prepare   wake up out of sleep/slumber  and  gather  together

the coming  of the LORD JESUS [day /Light of the LORD

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

seems that those  wont go ahead /advance before  those alive  , but its a gathering of the dead and alive together  with  HIM

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,

with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:

and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
the great cloud of witnesses    hebrews 12   and seeing this as a spiritual  event  and not a natural event   ,   the flesh knows nothing  its an enemy  of  and between   the two seeds [good and evil]  life and death  etc .

to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words" ( 1 Thess. 4:13-18).

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed" (1 Cor. 15:51-52)

new man /creature in Christ is made alive from  among the dead [our mortal bodies  and spirit of slumber /sleep ]

its hard to explain  with words  :dunno2:
