Title: Having some doubts, but I think the Lord is leading me somewhere unexpected
Post by: Universalist Catholic on July 22, 2010, 12:03:01 AM
For the past three years, I have endured many tribulations after my senior summer.  I started in the 2007 fall at this really strict tech school with a very rigid cirriculum.  Thats pretty rough when you dont even know what career you want.  While at that school, I started turning to Organized religion for the answers, and also developed GAD.  Then I started having problems with organized religion when they couldnt help me, and only made matters worse.  I ended up turning into a Fundamentalist Catholic, due to my opposition to Fundamentalist Protestanism.  But of course the same problems exist eitherway.  Then my anxiety got worse last year when I was in a new four year college, when I was learning more Dogma, which filled in loopholes allowing for spirituality in place of all that legalism.  I finally got psychological help and went on treatments.  I got well enough to realize that if Legalism was causing one to endure anxiety, it couldnt be a good thing.

The Blessings then start to begin.  I am finally released from legalism.  A month later I find out about Universal Salvation.  I still struggled with anxiety after bad things, stressful situations, or abrupt changes.  Just recently my social network has been rebuilded.  And I have this feeling that the Lord has promised something great for me for the fall.

However, I have been having some doubts instilled in my mind about next term at school.  I have been guided to some dissapointments that broke down the pillars of my school life.  However I have been guided to some blessings outside of the school system making me wonder if maybe the Lord has brought me to these disappointments to guide me to a different path outside the academic world to possibly a job or something in the ministry?

This is not the first time I recall having been answered in a way I did not expect.  Like instead of being led to see strict adherence to religion in a spiritual way, but taken out of that system.

But I do have GAD, and sometimes I have disturbing thoughts, and have a difficult time dealing with unpleasant situations, changes, and still have the intrusions of those old bad memories from last year while suffering severe GAD

Just my  :2c: but since the Lord dragged me out of the world, sometimes it is very difficult to look at.
I would not call it GAD but instead a Spiritual distaste for the old ways that most of the population still operates in today.

You are called out and hedged in.

It is not you that has the problem — IT'S THEM!
