Gen 6:8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

As D.L. Moody pointed out, this is the first time grace is found in the Bible. This question has been rolling around in my mind for years now, and I hope I can ask it with some clarity.
It maybe so obvious that I can't see it.
Did Noah "find" grace in the eyes of the Lord, was Noah looking for grace? We see from the verses above verse 8, times were pretty dark.
Or was the Lord already, because of the times, settled that the man Noah would be that one to begin His Creation again, thus grace began?

Adam found grace in God's eyes too.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Okay. I can see your point, could you elaborate some?

Adam sacrificied after sent out of the garden. That sacrifice is part of the blood covenant.
There are 4 covenants. Blood/servant, Salt/friendship, Sandal/inheritance and Marriage/life

A Jewish wedding dress has 4 layers. The 1st layer is the same word as the skin Adam recieved from God. Could be pure conicidence or God started fixing immediately after things went wrong......
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...

First usage is always interesting.

I tend to look at grace as always being there.  I think the Genesis crew had a much different take on it.

I was following until, "God started fixing immediately after things went wrong......"

I never realized "things went wrong," but then again that's just me. :dsunny:

Assuming you mean all went according to God's plan then with that in a way you show/prove the grace you asked about in yout 1st post....

When you state, "Adam sacrificied after sent out of the garden." You are pairing Cain and Abel as one Adam? If so, you flipped my mind back to thoughts I had several years ago. :Chinscratch:

I can see grace was before Gen.6:8, and now I see that is was not Noah who found the grace, and that grace was always there as we read in Rev. 13:8. The LORD God certainly IS a great planner. Thank you WW. :dsunny:

Also I have come to believe that Grace is a very action, that the Lord God uses for man/Adam to ignite the action of Faith. Like flint and steel or steel and flint. Thoughts?

WhiteWings

No but you are right that Cain and Abel also made sacrifices.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...

When did Adam offer a sacrifice?

WhiteWings

I know of no solid proof but it looks like they did.

Also remember they tabernacled outside the garden on the east. Both hinting to Temple stuff. Ok, again no solid proof of anything but the odds are stacking up in favor or Adam staying connected to God and not running away in despair/anger and their kids starting to connect to God.

Wasn't it just Cain who "tabernacled" outside the garden the "east?" Yes, I believe that Adam stayed connected because Gen 4:25  And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
Gen 4:26  And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.  :2c:

I think they lived as a family. Father, mother and kids.

We all do that...."I think,".... at times causes us some turmoil and then sometimes we find the sliver of a nugget. As the fella said, keep searching. Thanks WW.

A beautiful question. It goes right to the heart of how God works, and is there for, somewhat inscrutable and beyond any simple answer :o)
