There has been tons of topics . .. and possibly this could be the repeat of another one, but there are two books that are simply my favorites in Scripture . .they just happen to be the first and the last. Beings that there's a bug in the system, I can't play anymore in the thread dealing with the last book . .. so I thought I'd start one dealing with the first.
The first time I saw the deeper things beneath the surface of this book, I was literally in a daze . .it changed everything in how I look at my relationship with God as well as the rest of Scripture.
The beginning of this fascinating assembling of writings that eventually accumulated over the course to 1600 years from Genesis to Revelation, it's even more intriguing to me to see that it all started in a chamberroom of intimacy between God and . . . well . . .the earth.
Genesis 1
1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters
It's verse 2 that really starts things off in me. The fact that "face" is in there twice was really interesting. For me, "face" is to mean my identity. so, the identity of the earth was darkness. When taking this "internally" the darkness of "my" earth . . .would be as Paul speaks of about the mind of man . . .it's at emnity with God . .the same exact language used here in this book later on when dealing with Eve and the serpent . .hopefully that will be another piece of the conversations that will come out of this.
So, the identity of the earth was darkness . .then the Spirit came and "hovered". The definition I found with that word actually means to brood; by implication to be relaxed: - flutter, move, shake. So you have an "empty" darkness beneath a "moving" spirit. The entire motive that God had when creating man . .was to have a relationship. Not just a hand-shake and a pat on the back relationship, but God has always and forever wanted "intimacy".
For me, this verse takes us inside the bedroom, the room of intimacy where birthing manifests . .and we see the Spirit "hovering" over the earth, as a man "moves" over a woman in the act of intimacy with her . . . and here's the kicker . .the second "face". We have the earths identity as darkness . . like a womb, it's empty, void of any life . .but then the Spirit comes along and sets the atmosphere in this darkness with a seed of life.
The purpose of the "moving" of the Spirit is to REPRODUCE life into man. In to our earth. My mind is my woman, it's my womb, it's where spirit seeds are conceived and take root and give birth to my understanding, producing the fruits of the one who fathered the seed. The spirit hovered over "mother" earth and released . . .brace yourself . . . "semen" upon the earth . . .the garden of Eden was a spiritual place, but Eden was not . . .and before the flood, there was no direct sun and there was no thunder, lightning, and clouds producing rain . .the rain came from within the earth in the form of dew.
I'm getting ahead of myself. Back to the identity of the earth. It was darkness and emptiness. But the second face is connected to the "waters" that are "under" the Spirit. I looked up "waters" in my esword . . .you ready for this???

The first face is connecting us to the state of the natural things .. . dark and empty. The second face is connecting us to the introduction of the seed of life "into" that womb of darkness. The identity changed from darkness . . to semen . . .seeds of life. And atmosphere of "creation".
And then, and only then, did God begin "speaking" the invisible into the visible. For me it's like when salmon reproduce. The female lays the eggs . . .and that's all they are . .just eggs of death . .the life doesn't manifest in them until the male salmon "moves" over them and sprays the cloud of semen into their atmosphere and "then" they begin the life cycle of the next generation.
The entire Bible originates in the most intimate of places of God . . .in his beginning.
The wording in Genesis has intrigued me for some time now. Just the plural nature of heavens and what you point out as well. Certainly goes way beyond just a simple story of God making the earth thats for sure.

"That" is what we're really to be doing .. . calling this out. It is a prophetic word already completed in the spirit, we need to call that which is finished into the spirit, into the flesh. the desire of the nations SHALL COME . . . the atmosphere has just been charged with life-seed . .spirit sperm if you will. And now that the atmosphere is charged, as it was in Genesis, let it now so be in that "we" in the image and likeness of God simply call it out . . ."Let there be LIGHT!" Let the Nation's desire be turned toward the things that are above and not conformed to that which is below."

MAN I love that passage!!! I really feel it resonate everytime I read it. It's like looking back on a treacherous path that I just came out of . . .much has been shaken, much has been removed . . now much can be seen!!
