Title: Dump the labels
Post by: musicman on April 27, 2013, 08:40:12 PM
Hello all!  I hope all of you are enjoying spring, (if your in that part of the world!)    Just felt moved to post this today...

Ive noticed on so many forums on the web, people are always looking for the correct label to define their beliefs.  Like universalist, or this'ist, that'ist the other'ist.  These labels, to me, separate us, and don't allow full intimacy with our father, (abba).  I believe we need to ask our father on a daily basis, on awakening i the morning, please father, help deepen my relationship with YOU, fill me and immerse me (baptize) in your spirit of truth (the holy spirit) fill me with your wisdom and knowledge so I may walk in a deep loving relationship with you.

Why do we need to know exactly what is happening in the end times?  Shouldn't our relationship with our father be the most important thing?  and the only thing we need?  Wont he reveal to us what we need to know if we have that relationship with him?  why do we need labels to define our beliefs?  Just always feels wrong to me.  OUr father will reveal to us what he needs to.  at one point I felt I finally figured it out and I had labeled myself a, "Messianic Jewish biblical universalist!"  sounded about right but I was led by the spirit of truth from our father that there is no need for that label.  I now on a daily basis work on communicating with my father and continually repent of any un-righteous acts that I am aware of that come up.  I feel a deeper connection and whenever I see someone say are you a this'ist or that'ist, it just feels unnecessary.  Dont you feel we should be asking each other questions like, how is your relationship with your father, your creator?  are you practicing daily, spending time with him, in your heart? meditating on him? swimming in the spirit of truth with him, asking HIM questions?  If we are that desperate to know answers to certain details on HIS plan ask HIM.  DO you have little faith he won't answer you?  Ask him to reveal to you any false scribal entries in the Biblical cannon and you will be amazed at the truth you will find out!  Hard for most christians to EVER believe.  but the father knows.  I know most of your would never believe there was any false scribal entries, especially from Paul, but holy spirit has revealed to me some.  they will stand out like a sore thumb!  BUt that is where I am on my journey with my father, it will differ from you, and these are all opinions based on what has been revealed to me, no need for debate.  If this resonates with anyone, that cool, if not than cool!   :)

Obviously, you are not a labelist.  Other people, I've noted, refuse to be pinned down or given a label.  I myself have stated that I am NOT catholic, orthodox, protestant, fundamentalist, etc, etc, etc.  I think labels and categories are just a shortcut to proper understanding, and some take it to the extreme that when you do explain who/what/where/why you are, they just say, "Oh, you're a _______-ist then!"  It passes for understanding, but isn't, really.

Calling a thing a "thing" does not make it a thing.  I may be a thing, but then again it may not.  The point is, it does not matter what you call something; it is what it is.  However, some labels do tend to carry weight, as we are preconditioned to make certain prejudgements about certain labels.  That is where we get into trouble with labels.  I have been thinking along these same lines about denominational labels, such as "Baptist" and "Catholic."  All who believe Jesus is the Savior of the world are saved.  If we are all believers, then why can we not worship and serve together side by side, without those differences in doctrinal beliefs becoming stumbling blocks to each other.

..."this'ist, that'ist and the other'ist"  :laugh2: :laugh2:

I like your attitude of peace and peacemaker! :gsmile:
Personally, when it comes to labels, I like to think of myself as being part everything in the body (but not everything within them!).. It's obvious every 'sect' is right about some things and wrong about some things, and the same for us the people/children of God. I think the answer to every problem or trouble in life is the same answer! And the same thing is always needed - "more of Jesus" and also the answer to every question in life, and what is always needed for answers, is more of God, our Heavenly Father.. Personally too, :gsmile: what I think and have quite a passion concerning, is I think we (well, me) should understand all of God's Word so I can be accurate and able to communicate to others (believers and not yet believers) what or where we are (within this Great drama of God)..  Currently I am asking of and seeking of our Father (and Spirit of Truth) what "I will pour out My spirit on your sons and your daughters.." and also "but I tell you the Spirit of Elijah has already come.." means or fits in to (yes) last days scenario (within the great drama of God).

...for at least 20+ years i've felt a strong nudging of the Spirit.. what i've come to think of as a 'revelation call'.. that the notorious last book of the Bible can (easily) and should be, understood. Because, "blessed are those who hear" it..

..but since recently coming here regularly, I've learned that there's the expectation on the part of some believers in the body, of great exploits from God's people in 'latter' days.. (Even to the point of subduing all the earth and empires-of-man?) So I am seeking the LOrd for the proper balance of the two (as I am quite sure both in their degrees are true, both, powerful exploits, and "in the day when the towers fall").. All this is because God has put in me 'an inquiring mind.. that wants to know' :gsmile: ..indeed has to know.. (i have a conviction that the truth i live in, needs to be true :laughing7: as much as possible:)
  blessings!

Marie, you have given much food for thought, prayer, thanksgiving... and with such great enthusiasm.  Thank you so much.  I'm printing this post ... for a future quotable quote.

Marie, I was greatly encouraged by your sharing that:

"I think the answer to every problem or trouble in life is the same answer!  And the same thing is always needed - "more of Jesus" and also the answer to every question in life, and what is always needed for answers, is more of God, our Heavenly Father.  Personally, what I think and have quite a passion concerning, is I think we(well me) should understand all of God's Word so I can be accurate and able to communicate to others (believers and not yet believers) what or where we are (within this Great drama of God)...    All this is because God has put in me an inquiring mind... that wants to know... indeed has to know..."

=========================

My passion is to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. (which imo is Jesus Christ and Him crucified  and the power of His resurrection)

I have almost no interest in the current events as to how they are related or not related to prophecy.  Yet, I do listen to and read much current event news...some are called to be watchmen... others are called to pray... May He find us faithful to His calling whatever it is.

anna274, you just made another quotable quote when you said: I have almost no interest in the current events as to how they are related or not related to prophecy.  Yet, I do listen to and read much current event news...some are called to be watchmen... others are called to pray... May He find us faithful to His calling whatever it is. I agree but the problem here is that some called to pray believe in their heart (motive) that they are called to some sort of action. Most IMO are called to pray but they just don't think that will solve anything because of lack of faith in the living Elohim.

Oh my, I was just scolded by the Holy Spirit for saying "I have almost no interest..."  He reminded me to again thank Molly, Marie, etc., for bringing current events/people and prophecy to our attention... especially to my attention because He has called me to be an Activist on Knees and I am not being very "active" these days...
