Title: Do Jews have their passover meal much to late?
Post by: WhiteWings on October 26, 2010, 09:29:34 PM
Passover is on Nisan 14th.
In the night of Nisan 14th the firstborn were killed by the destroyer. Unless there was blood of a lamb on the doorposts.
Nisan 14th starts about 6pm and ends 6pm the next day.
Jesus died 3pm, about the time the lambs were killed by the Jews.
But the destroyer went over Egypt at the night of the 14th.
Say between 1:00am and 4:00am.
So the Jews at Jesus' time kill their lambs after the destroyer 'vistited' them.
The last supper was on passover day and before the detroyer past over the land.

Thoughts?

:cloud9: Let me get back to you on this....

As a side note; there is a carried down traditional story passed down that the Jews heard terrible screams in the darkness that night as the angel of death went thru the Egyptian's dwelling places.

Something went wrong....
An hour after I posted this thread I deleted it because I found the answer.

Jewish people have a meal in their own house (Last Supper)
And about 24 hours later in teh house of Father (Temple building)

But mister roughneck get your specs checked!
A niSSan is a 4x4
A niSan is a 2x2. For the techies among us, it's nicknamed bicycle.
