So I have, in my life, cried to God asking for understanding a lot about why we had to go through so much pain and suffering and this is an attempt to explain what I have come to understand. I believe that Consciousness exists in the comparison of polarities left right up down over under good bad hot and cold black white and on and on. If I consider this idea in the light of or through the filter of semantics it makes perfect sense. The idea that the map is not the land defined by it. I can not know the territory defined by looking at its map, I would only know of it. I could not know how it feels to walk in the forest, to smell it and walk barefoot on the ground or drink from a stream within it. Knowing of and knowing are two very different things. So I understand the necessity of experiencing this life of polarities and I now know the attributes of God instead of knowing of them, love, peace, joy, just to name a few. My spirit longs for them and cries out for them in those periods of feeling separated from them. I am convinced that this is the purpose of this world, it is consciousness preschool or kindergarten and its purpose is for us to know God rather then know of him. I wonder what 1st grade will bring to us?
As I sometime say, we are like little children sitting in on a college-level Masters Class. :dunno2:
Matthew 11:29
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
"Polarity theory" seems kind of like Taoist philosophy. I think things like electricity or even the atom show there is positive and negative energy in the universe that may seem to contrast each other but also complement each other. I believe God subjects us to the darkness so we can fully appreciate the light. We have the knowledge of good and evil by experiencing them both, but I think our suffering now is nothing compared to the joy we will experience when God is "all in all." I think "consciousness" is a living soul's experience of awareness. We perceive the world through our senses and process the information with our minds. I think we all start out self-centered as infants thinking only of our own survival, but eventually we should mature and learn to care for others. I think that's the lesson of life. "Love your associate as yourself." (Leviticus 19:18; Romans 13:9; Galatians 5:14) Some folks speak of higher consciousness, cosmic consciousness, spiritual consciousness, or Christ consciousness, but I think you can get into new age philosophy if you're not careful to discern the spirits. I think heightened spiritual awareness, or consciousness, is simply what scripture calls being "in the spirit." I think those who truly love God and their fellow human beings experience it.

Ronny to WasJon:
One reason God lets us go through pain and suffering,is that so later on,we can help others, who are going through similar things.
And just thinking about a time in my life, that I believed a lot of lies about myself. Very painful;but I also knew, that God/Jesus Christ loved me. :-) Yet at one and the same time,I thought God was highly disappointed with me. At it's worst,I thought of suicide;but then God brought me out of that and over to the other side. :-) And as I sometimes put it,I wouldn't wish somethings I've gone through,on my worst enemy;but yet I look back on things and see how God has worked in my life and brought good out of evil! :-) For me anyway, experiencing the bad, that's just made the good, that much better. :-) And I look forward to a time as well, when I'm further along, than I am now. Or as I've heard one person put it,I'm not where I need to be;but thank God,I'm not where I once was! :-) I like that;but might just change it up a bit. For where I'm at,at the moment,is right where God means for me to be. But the best part is,there are even better days a coming! :-) And in the here and now and where God has equipped me to,I am to also help others,as I can. That's why we're all here and learning. Being taught and learning,so we can help others.

Ronny to Lazarus:
So true! :-) And the best part of all is,no matter where God has each of us,no matter what level,God loves us all. :-) And nothing, can ever stop God from loving us all! :-)

Ronny to Eaglesway:
Amen and amen! :-)
And I was really needing to hear the above today, for I woke up,worrying about somethings. And as I well know, worrying never helped/solved anything! (ha) :-)

Ronny to Tom:
Loved your post Tom and especially the following part! :-) "I believe God subjects us to the darkness so we can fully appreciate the light." A double amen to that! :-)
