I'm thinking about learning Greek on my own, does anybody of you speak Greek?

I soon get my dictionary, a secular one - I think theological dictionaries are often biased.

I kinda like the Greek letters, it's a very interesting matter I think.

If anybody of you learned Greek, was it very difficult?

Make sure the dictionary you buy has not (only) modern Greek meaning of words. It also needs to be Koine Greek.

Hey sven, I've actually taken 3 years of Koine Greek.  I am in no way an expert but I would say I am fairly competant in it so if you need any help, send me a message.

As far as difficulty is concerned, Koine Greek is definately not easy but it's not impossible either.  Just keep at it, study every day, and you'll get it eventually.  Best of luck to ya bro!

P.S.  White Wings made a good point, make sure your dictionary is in Koine Greek

I think I genuinely know Hebrew and Greek, but I'm not sure right now.  I had to be corrected about some things when I started learning about UR, Postmillenialism, and some of the deeper details of the Hosea 2:18 covenant.  I'm sorta in the position that I would be with my mutt Spanish and mutt French from Texas and trying to go to Spain or France right now.  Uh...er....I think I could avoid getting something really strange at a restaurant, but, got a list of local vegan restaurants just to be sure?? LOL!  I've done word studies over the last 6 or 8 years while getting my head screwed on straight about some subjects, but I haven't gone back really hardcore into the grammars yet as deeply as I'm needing to, to see what else I only know generalizations about from Seminary.

as I'm German I purchased Langenscheidt's Ancient Greek dictionary, it's still at my parents, I'm thinking about translating the book of Enoch, don't know if I will be able to.

I think ancient Greek is not by defenition Koine Greek.
That was 300BC-300AD IIRC
