I am sensing from some posts and from some scripture, that Christ's second coming is actually physically manifested in the body of believers. Is that the case? :dontknow:
I think so, but I dont think that is the limit of it. "Every eye will see Him even those who pierced Him". Whatever it will be(ephianea-inner appearing used in reference to the second coming but also parousia-presence/coming) it will be like the lightning shining from the east to the west.
That is one of the scriptures that seems to indicate that it is the body of Christ:
Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
tied into...
Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven
Wouldn't the Saints, who are the light of the world, extend from East to where it meets west, or worldwide?
Also, in the verse that you mention, "every eye will see him" could be in reference that, as the Holy Spirit is in us, and as we look at ourselves and others, every eye will see him. Eventually. For not everyone confesses Jesus as Lord.
Just trying to think this through. Thank you very much for your response.
As i said, i do believe it is the body of christ, i just don't think it is only the body of christ. "we will not all sleep but we shall all be changed in a moment in a twinkling of an eye at the last trump, for the trump shall sound and the Lord will descend and we shall be changed"
So I believe also in a literal second coming that will fulfill Romans 8,
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.
This is the revelation of Jesus in His body, the manifestation of the children of God, initiating an age of setting creation free from futility(imo) : "Whom the heavens must receive UNTIL the period of the restoration of all things spoken of by all the prophets from the beginning" (Acts 3:19). It is also the revelation of Jesus the Lord and King of earth and kosmos to this world, the next phase in "the administration suitable to the fulness of times, the gathering together into one(anakephalaiomai) of all things in Christ." Eph 1:9-11). But, in my opinion there is another age after that one, I call it "the age of the subjection of the last adversaries" or, the lake of fire....but that is just my own opinion, seen thru the glass darkly- I don't promote it as doctrine ;o)

:iagree:
Ever hear the expression; "get your head out of the clouds"? I don't know its origin, but I was thinking about this and it goes along with what EW is saying, about two different ages. The body of Christ is in this dispensation, working on earth, but then the fulness of Christ, the head and the body, will be working together in the kingdom age.
