My wife went out in the garage this morning to head out for work - she called me over quick when she noticed a bunch of bottles and boxes were knocked over. I took a peek in the garage door and thats when my wife screamed as a skunk went scurrying past. Luckily it stayed in the garage. We hurriedly closed the door and went around to the main door and proceeded to track it down.
After moving a bunch of clutter out of the way, we saw him hiding in the corner behind some wood sticks. I cautiously moved the sticks out of the way while my wife blocked the skunk's retreat back into the garage. We literally ended up using a carrot & stick incentive system - my wife kept a long stick near the one side so the skunk wouldn't come back in, while I laid out a couple carrots for the skunk as temptation to leave. The skunk ignored the carrots, but after a few minutes he felt it was safe to leave and did so.
Nothing got sprayed so we were lucky.
The real question is: What is God trying to tell me?
I think God want to tell you nobody would notice when you are sprayed.
Sorry lego, it's hard for me to ignore an open goal :boydance:
LOL let the zingers fly :Sparkletooth:
But when I was approaching the little guy, I was seriously considering how many days I would have to take off work if I did get sprayed...
Luckily he was relatively friendly, if a little unsure of his predicament (and ours).
I never seen a skunk I my life (besides on TV).
I know dogs can sense and react to emontion of the person approaching them. (stare them in the eyes. many dogs get nervous of it)
Maybe the skunk also sensed you and your wife had no ill intend.
In fact I think he like you and will return for the carrots :footmouth:
You know the skunks proverb: "The family that sprays together stays together."

This thread stinks.

Yes for that I am thankful. In all seriousness that's why I asked the question: what do you think God is trying to tell me?
I had just spent most of the previous day "discussing" at CARM, and was getting caught in the middle of a lot of strife. Then I wake up the next day and find a skunk in my garage.
Almost like God was trying to snap me out of it, and pull me back to reality - like he was saying "See I can put a skunk in your garage, and have the power to control the situation so it
doesn't spray you - so why are you worrying about those silly people over at CARM?"
Of course I could be way off in my interpretation...

Romans 1:20 . . God uses the natural to reveal spiritual truths . . .I'd say your personal interpretation is too close for comfort bro . . . God definitely has a sense of humor . . .and that's really a great sermon . . .skunks in my garage . . . But I think it's one that I need to preach to me and leave it at that. :laughing7:

It's a good thing there's a channel seperating you from Pepe La Pew.
Hang out at Carm and you're unlikely to discover a night blooming Jasmine in your garage. I'm just saying . . .
